We always seem to have games in hand though... the zero point losses really kill you in this league. if at least we got a point from that Rags loss it's HUGE. (although we should not have gotten 2 the game before that).
- niteislander

Yea losses are going to happen it just seems most of the top teams are all winning by beating the bottom teams. One of the habs isles or sabres are going to fall off a bit and right now it looks like the sabres. Also the isles have to get past the caps pens and bj to get into top 3 and those are 3 very good teams so will be a dogfight till the end.

Sabres are a fragile team IMO. They have the skill to make the playoffs, but when they hit a hard skid things just fall apart on them.

The Habs are currently being held up by Price, who is being held up by Weber. Price's uptick in play coincides exactly with Weber's return. Coincidence? I think not. If either one of them gets hurt (considering their recent histories, could very well happen) they'll fall apart.

Pens are the Pens. They ain't going anywhere. If anything I think CBJ might regress somewhat, what with the drama being created by Bobrovsky and the impending departure of both he and Panarin. Perhaps the Jackets collapse under the pressure?

Am I crazy?

I feel like in any other season... wouldn't being 11 games above .500 put us pretty much at the top of the division, and close to the top of the conference? I'm shocked at the fact we could drop to 8 games above .500 and not even be holding onto a Wild Card spot.

Isles just need to keep up this play at this point, and hope a few other teams start falling down on their faces. Especially Buffalo and Montreal. It doesn't get any more aggravating than seeing two teams outside of our division holding onto 2 WC spots. Especially considering Buffalo and Montreal weren't expecting to be that good.

It's a shame they didn't keep the old playoff format. We'd currently have the division lead over the Pens...with the Rags/Flyers/Devils not even close to sniffing us.

I believe we're 12-3 in the last 15 if I looked at it correctly. Let's double down on that boys! 24-6. That'll surely lock us into a PO berth. One can only dream.

Good on her for getting some exercise. Now she just needs to take the money she spends on cosmetics and purchase some proper work out apparel.

Danke for the inspiring gif MDW.

Being an isles fan I think its my team that burns out. With that said Trotz and this system are rewarding them even on bad days so they may just keep it up. Lehner keeps saying the team is special maybe its the us against the world because of tavares leaving attitude thats helping idk.

Naturally you'd feel that way. You and the majority of the Isles fanbase has been systematically abused for decades by inept ownership, managements and coaching staffs.

As I have been spared most of said abuse, I feel far more optimistic about the Isles chances. I don't see them falling past the 2nd WC this year.

You worry about players like Bailey and Nelson not getting it done in the 2nd half and this year without PB, it's critical Bailey and Nelson do not disappear like in the past.

Oh I think they're quite capable of taking one of the top 3 spots in the Metro. What I meant is, I can't see them falling PAST the 2nd WC spot.

Regardless of where they place, I think they Isles should take any playoff appearance this year as a win. They were completely written off at the start of the season, and their level of play shows tremendous character.

I think said disappearances had more to do with who was behind the bench and systems the team played.
I mean, can anyone remember seeing Nelson playing such a complete game before? Until this season, I thought he was very one dimensional. Same could be said for Lee even.

Good points schwein. Bailey is still a concern though. Nelson has played well this year and Lee was not much of a concern.

I agree with that but if you couple the two of them and the team making the playoffs even after losing pj boy that has to send a real message. Only negative is where they are playing or at least the uncertainty
