Well, they are probably going to get shellacked tomorrow. We have to hope they pick up 4 of the next 6 points after that (Blues, Devils, Capitals).
- JimmyP

So it’ll most likely be four of eight overall and that’s almost a most likely best case scenario. Not good...

It’s more than that. There’s a funk through the whole team the last four games. Most teams go through this at some part in the season the only question is will they figure it out or are they just falling back to earth where they should be? We shall see...

They’re a point out of third in the division but that’ll disappear real quick.

True but Isles have more options for the 3rd line. It's tougher to address the 1st two lines. Hopefully the team bounces back.

On the bright side, they didn't go through the traditional 10+ game losing streak. I'm so glad we have a new front office.

2 out of a possible 6 points, playing teams trailing them in the standings, with 2 out of 3 games at home...... They are going to drop quickly out of the playoff race if they can't get it together fast.

I highly doubt that Barry will play Johnston against Tampa. I think we'll see MDC.

I love Barry but Barry needs to take the blame for this one as well. Acting like McLoud is the toughest player in history. You have to play Martin or Johnston and not both
- ses111

Barry takes blame always. However having Ross Johnson and Martin in the line up had nothing to do with this loss. The PP needs to score. Especially on a 5-3

I’m going to repeat Myself but Gomez has to go that’s on Barry.

Pelech is bad but Sbisa is just horrid

Maybe..........unless Barry's boss, Lou, told him he's stuck with him. Lou is the one with a relationship with Gomez, not Barry.

Yeah Sbisa is pretty terrible. Even I was upset when I heard Hickey left practice today after watching Sbisa😂

Yeah I think ultimately it comes down to Lou. He’s well known for being in control of everything I doubt this time around it’s any different and like I said in the past the only reason I can come up with for Gomez still being here is due to his past relationship with Lou.

Isles not playing the 70's Flyers. No reason for Johnston and Martin to both play. Maybe if you play MDC you can use him on the PP and maybe it helps? I'm all for Gomez going but he seems to be Lou's buddy.

It seems like they pretty much have Hickey's return mapped out for themselves. Waive Sbisa and send him to BPT, Pelech moves to a regular-scratch, Toews earned his spot as a regular. Pelech can swap in if anyone's game falls apart or there is an injury. That certainly seems like the writing on the wall. Sbisa did absolutely nothing today to warrant any favorable treatment from management.

That’s really the only sensible thing to do. Sbisa has no business in an nhl line up at this point even as seventh D man.

I don't think anyone is blaming Trotz solely for the loss or even blaming it on Johnston being in the lineup, but absolving those moves of all responsibility isn't fair either.

Johnston makes this team a lot easier to play against. He took a spot in the lineup and played 5:14 the entire game. He didn't even average two minutes a period. That breaks up lines, forcing guys to play with unfamiliar linemates and makes everyone play more minutes.

PP and its coach takes the most blame. The refs were pretty bad today (not blaming the loss on them at all) and that didn't help either.

Hopefully they figure it out before tomorrow night, because that kind of effort tomorrow is going to result in a blowout loss and Greiss hasn't exactly been Mr. Consistency lately.

I can’t wrap my head around the whole MM and Johnson being in the lineup together being the reason why we lost this game? We will agree to disagree on that. They played better 5-5 then the other game at MSG and just couldn’t finish. The PP once again let them down.

As far as Gomez, I can’t see Lou saying Barry that’s my buddy and he needs to run the PP even if it sucks. You have to think something is gonna change.

The Islanders being on 6 PPs and then killing the 4 (?) PPs the Rags had keeps Johnson off the ice.

In addition to the obvious reasons for the loss, the third line should maybe think about not taking terrible penalties at the worst times, too. They're supposed to be the true pros or whatever that always know what they have to do. In two of the last three games, they've taken penalties in the last three minutes, and Komarov's dumb "accidentally" pushing the net off penalty to put them down two men in the third period of last game is only forgivable because the team managed to kill it off.

That's kinda my point. Why are we bothering to take away a lineup spot from someone else to give it to a guy who's unable to be used in most facets of the game that don't involve punching? He's not worth the paper his contract is printed on.

He only averages two more minutes per game normally anyway

Again, it's not the only reason they lost. But he's not part of the solution, so you know what he is a part of.

The reason? Nah, but I'd just say I would think my team probably had a decent chance to win if I looked at the lineup for the opposing team and saw the bottom six wingers were Komarov, Johnston, Martin, and Clutterbuck. That's gotta put a lot more pressure on the top-six.

Did just that.

Also watched the highlights. Holy (frank), Lundqvist was pure poop. Eberle took almost 3 seconds to make his shot and it still went in.

Sorry Streaks, I’m afraid there was no cell service at the lake. But I swear to you with my hand upon my Lee jersey, that I shall post the “tightest” booty gif yet after the next Islanders victory.

- Wildschwein

Dear Coach Trotz, please don't let the islanders go on a 10 game losing streak. Our friend from the north has pledged to grace us with a most lovely booty gif upon winning our next game. It would be a shame to have to wait to view said booty.
Your pal,
