By the way, we're all agreed on Toews, right? He belongs with the Isles?

If he inexplicably gets sent down today, I'm expecting to see a post or two calling him the American Bruno Gervais or something like that given the speed at which this board can turn on a prospect

Oh ok. Always seems like we’re leaving points on the table in games where we get a late pp down by a goal. Remember it happening multiple times so far in the season guess it doesn’t jive with the numbers.
- Cptmjl

I was surprised at the numbers too. They are leaving points on the table but it's not as many as I thought. Still, as has been pointed out, if they had a decent PP they would be fighting for the division lead.

JHS obviously was not a huge key to the Isles winning, but the team was winning and he adds much needed speed. I would have keep him up with the team and you can always sit him when needed.

Does the fact that they said "Loaned to Bridgeport" instead of sent to b-port mean anything? I feel like that was on purpose to let him know they just want him to keep playing and he would be back shortly.. maybe I am nuts.

most of the games they are 0- on the PP we lose by a goal. We have at least a couple of 5-on-3 PP goals too. Games like last night if we just had 1 PP goal on the 3 chances we get AT LEAST a point out of that game. 3 or 4 points is HUGE in standings . It's very hard to catch people b/c so many games have 3 points to teams playing. When you have a game that you fail to get even 1 point it's a HUGE deal.
- niteislander

My point was that a decent PP wouldn't put them up 10 points in the standings. I agree that every point is important especially with the three point games.

Also I can't understand why Gomez still has a job at this point.

Maybe he'll be back up when they trades Ebs.

I would think they would have to be looking at Gomez at this point. Been seeing the same thing since the opening game this season with the same result. The guy doesn’t have an answer obviously on how to fix the power play. If we had a decent power play we have an additional 10 or 12 points and lead the division.
- Cptmjl

Agreed on Gomez. I was never jazzed about him being the PP coach. The good news is, if after the season the PP is the reason for failure he’ll be gone.

Having Trotz is the biggest thing to happen to this team in decades.

Bottom line is special teams wins games regular season and playoffs our power play is atrocious and needs to be fixed. Letting it continue like this unchanged is borderline negligent. Watching Clutterbuck out there continuously gives me flashbacks of capuano.

Not to mad about last night. Last night proved a lot to me though. First greiss is not a number one goalie and looked bad last night.

Clutterbuck should just stay on the fourth line and let Martin and cizikas carry him through each shift he is useless.

We need to hit the net on the power play at least once a game would be nice.

Da colle looked great last night should be on power play going forward.

Bailey is doing his usual disappearance act.

I expect a way better performance tomorrow against the rangers. They should be well rested since they took the last two games off

We know Lou has had no issues firing head coaches in the past. Have to think Barry has no ties to Gomez.

If he were late i think the beat writers would be all over it as they love a good story. I also don’t think he’d have been loaned to bport, but rather sent down. Who knows ....

Lou has ties to Gomez and you have to assume that’s why he held the job in the first place. Certainly not based on his awesome job last season.

I assume you're talking about Ho Sang. Trotz was asked about it in the post-game. He said nothing about his being late for practice. What he did say was that he had spoken to Ho Sang a few times about things he needed to correct in his game, but Ho Sang failed to correct those things. Thus, he felt some time in Bridgeport was warranted. He made it sound like he expects him to correct those issues and be back again better than ever.

Yes i thought that too but said they want it kept quiet and they are trying to move him. A bit contradictory in tbat its the beat writers job to report that so idk. Just passing it along

If you find the story post it. I love to read that stuff. Ha.

I’m sure they wanna move him but i don’t think anyone wants to deal....he fell far back at the draft for his attitude, not his talent.

Guy doesnt get it either way he always reverts back to his old ways. I think he has talent but the way this fan base reacts you would think it was barzal that was sent down. Jhs has 2 points in 10 games and was on the top line and power play for several games and still didnt produce. Anyone who doesnt think that lee nelson and eberle are a better line than lee nelson jhs isnt watching the games

I mean, it'd make some more sense regarding why the move was made, but I'm not sure about that...one of the two beat writers was the person sending out those "record with and without Ho-Sang" tweets. I'm not sure he'd be riling up the fan base like that while withholding the fact that the move was because Ho-Sang was late. He'd either report what he knew or, at the very least, not tweet out "Bit of a surprise there" when the news broke.
