Im watchin the game again cause i caught it late last night but this time the yotes feed. Interesting to hear their take on the isles and how they are a more complete team and the way they play
- Upstate_isles

It's almost shocking how much difference a good coach can make. The team loses its best player, but is playing as well or better than last season.

I think I see 4th line duty for Ladd upon his return........unless someone on the 3rd line gets injured.
- JohnScammo

Yea clutterbuck is who I would sit. Must be nice for jhs to hear trotz say he can be a regular and hes not going anywhere if he plays the way he is. Giving him the support and confidence he hasnt gotten in the past. Probably goes a long way

I'm thinking about carrying one in the car. You never know when a passenger could use a bottle opener.

It’s sweet how this is happening with mostly Garth players.

Do you see the New York Islanders making any big moves via trade? Definitely need more of a scoring punch. -- @tswizzle_31

Did you notice I didn't include Jordan Eberle as a potential target for the Wild in the answer to the previous question? I think the Islanders are going to remain in the hunt for a playoff berth and that's why I don't think they'll trade Eberle, even if the forward doesn't have a contract for next season. General manager Lou Lamoriello will actively scour the market for help. I'd look on the wing first. Adding a top-six forward to play on the wing could push Anthony Beauvillier into a third-line role, which increases the Islanders' scoring depth. Forward Andrew Ladd will create even greater depth when he returns from a lower-body injury. The only thing that changes my thinking on the Islanders looking for help through a trade is if forward Joshua Ho-Sang starts to break out. If they can go after Duchene, fine, but I wouldn't worry about the Islanders center depth of Mathew Barzal, Brock Nelson, Valtteri Filppula and Casey Cizikas. If they get Duchene, Nelson could move to the wing.

They won't break up that 4th line right now imho. I don't think Trotz or Lou give a shat how much they are paying a player they are going to play the guys who deserve it.

Beau moved to the 3rd line?

I still move Eberle. I do not like letting players walk for nothing unless it's a 4th line type player. Lee needs to be signed. Hope Lou is not going to Lee play this season out unsigned.

Hope Barry and Lou sit Ladd if he comes back 7. I know they did not give Ladd that contract but I hope they do not feel pressure to play him because of his contract.

For me they Lou and Trotz's goal from the beginning was a PO birth and they will do whatever it takes to get that. The organization and Fan base need it. The revenue it generates and not to mention the energy and belief it gives the fan base is exactly what this Team needs, especially with Belmont coming. Big investment and also a lot of seats to fill.

As far as Ladd, he will get a look but if the team is playing well I wouldn't rush to put him in.

That's not center depth. That's just our starting centers. When one goes down our center depth is Stephen Gionta.

Lou has always been pretty crafty with the cap, I wouldn't be surprised if he (essentially) tells Ladd that he can just relax and collect his paycheck for the rest of the season

Playoffs are nice but I worry they will not move someone like Eberle because of the playoff race. Hate to lose him for nothing and rather not give him a big deal. Isles are playing well but I do not see them being built for a long playoff run unless Lou becomes a serious buyer.

I can translate those, I just want to know if it's someone like...Eklund saying all that stuff? Or Bob McKenzie.

AKA I need to know if I should take it seriously or not

You can't worry about losing players for nothing when you have a competitive team. The Blackhawks lost Big Buff for nothing, but their consolation was they won the Cup. I know this current team is unlikely to win the Cup, but making the playoffs is more important than garnering an extra 2nd round pick which is probably the most you'd get for Eberle.

I wouldn't advocate for it, but with Ho Sang being there now it wouldn't be so bad. I don't know what the (frank) you'd do with that useless shitheap Komarov...but Beau-Filppula-Ho Sang is a nice 3rd line.

But the way Beau has been scoring lately it's tough to justify a demotion
