Well he has in the past this isn’t exactly breaking news. Lou also likes grinder types. That is what caused some fans some reservations with him especially after his first moves as manager.

No way you can take away Lou's past success, but Lou needs to ace this trade deadline and upcoming offseason and show he still has it.

At least komarov looked good 😂😂

Seriously tough loss last night. I miss the days when the islanders were already out of playoff position by now and I wouldn’t care to watch. Now I get pissed at every game cause they are in playoff contention.

This team needs a legit goalie top 6 forward and a defenseman.

Well he had to put something on the ice and im sure people werent beating down the door to come here. Think about it they couldnt land top f.a. players with tavares no way they were getting one right after he walked

I agree no top players were coming this past offseason. Just would have been nice to be able to add more one year deal type players like Fili instead of Leo and Hickey. Moose is one year so that's fine.

Not bashing the guy I’m happy he’s here believe me but there have been more questionable moves then ace in the holes so far. Getting Trotz to me was THE move. Everything else was fodder for the most point.

I get you and understand what you’re saying but I’m sick of making excuses for this clubs lack of success. Lou with me has a pass to an extent as far as I’m concerned for multiple reasons like you mentioned but there’s no excuse for some of these moves imo. The “we have plenty of cap space” argument is something I can’t relate to when signing what we have and trading for Martin. What that tells me is you’re willing to sacrifice cap space on a long term basis into upcoming seasons. That doesn’t bode well for his outlook for our future OR he actually thinks these guys will contribute two years from now on a hopefully successful team. Both these thoughts aren’t a good look imo. I don’t see Komarov or Martin as contributors to this teams success down the road and they’ll be tough contracts to dump.

I agree. Barry was a no brainer move. I'm still very happy Lou is GM but there are some concerns with some of these moves.

Mooseknuckle lehner and filpulla were 1 year deals which to me means hes got ideas in mind for those spots. Bobrovsky scares me but i think is his target in net i think he wants to land a top line center either a 1c or 2c depending in barzal and slide Nelson to 3c if he stays. Mooseknuckle was supposed to be the extra forward until ladd got hurt. Again panarin and bob are f.a. and theres talk of doughty and anyone on the blues being available, this team isnt out of it yet so we could see something happen especially with all the d in ahl that are playing well, gives him some chips to playwith

Bob also scares me. Something needs to be done goalie wise this offseason if Sorokin is not coming. Doughty or one of the Blues would be great. Have to think it would cost Dobson or Wilde in a deal. Do not think Wahlstrom can be moved. Isles have the D depth to give up but not the forward depth. I would like to see some Bridge players get a look and especially with the team in a funk. I just do not like the idea of going with the same group with no changes at all. After years of Garth and his horrible coaches, fans need to see an engaged GM and coach willing to try different things.

Not sure how much D depth we have? We need to see some of these kids play to really have an idea of what we’ve got. None of our NHL’ers are decent besides Pulock imo and he has room to grow but we don’t know what we have in these kids. Assuming we’ll see some of them if this team continues trending the way it is.

Depth as far as moving some as part of a package for something bigger, top 6 forwad preferably a top 3 or a legit top 2 d man

I would like to see some of these kids play before we move them. That’s just me and I know it’s a double edged sword and could effect their value but if we have a diamond for the back end and aren’t aware of it I don’t want to give them up...

This is why it's a good idea to get a look at some of these players. Maybe Toews and Aho? I think Dobson and Wilde are the high end players. I know they are not ready. Maybe some of the D men in Bridge can be used in trades?

Waive that clown. You can make an argument to sit anyone at this point besides Pulock minus his bone headed move last night he has probably been our steadiest defenseman imo.

Sbisa was another odd move by Lou. Use the Bridge dmen if you have injuries or lousy play.

There is a logjam right behind the Isles. If they lose Saturday they will be in 9th place at best. Depending on what other teams do they could even drop as far as 12th. Unfortunately this will probably be the story all season.

it's very hard to just sit back and wait things out in the NHL today. If the goal is to make the playoffs, moves have to been made. Does not have to mean just trades.
