Can we stop with the komarov hate? He has been doing his job defensively and killing penalties. It’s not his fault trotz put him in the shoot out

Shanny's reaction would be better. I do like they captured James reaction to the new Star Wars movies.

With no Leo Komarov, Josh Ho-Sang skating with Valtteri Filppula and Ross Johnston.

Edit -- Komarov must still be recovering from the embarrassment of that shootout attempt.

The Islanders get out-shot attempted by a country mile when he's on the ice

This myth that he's good defensively has got to stop. He's terrible at hockey and well-liked in the locker room.

Well not for nothing but I will trust trotz more than your fan observations. I see no problem with him or Vatteri at all. It’s the other guys on the ice doing no look passes who won’t shoot or who are to soft. That’s where the issues arise not him at all

If those are corsi Numbers I have no interest as it’s a bunch of crap. When I watched hockey years ago nobody cared about these numbers and the sport was just fine

If everyone's only answer to criticism is going to be "well Trotz and Lou said it so it has to be right" then posting on a message board where people discuss, debate, and exchange ideas probably isn't for you

Well, Michael DalColle is tops on that list, and Adam Pelech is #4, thus proving that your hypothesis is fatally flawed.

Edit: Clutterbuck is #6

You mean back in the early 80's when the Isles were good. And the people that watched hockey years before you were even born didn't care about stats like save %, GAA, +/-, etc. Here's the thing, the game has evolved and will continue to evolve. With that evolution comes new stats. Those new stats give management and coaches more information on players. Whether it's signing free agents or generating line-ups. Stats come into play. I'm not a big stat person myself, but I do see the relevance of them. You view it how you want. Just sayin'

Well Dal Colle has all of two GP, using that as evidence of anything would be like saying a guy is great on the faceoff because he took one once and won it so he has a 100% FO%

No one statistic is a perfect indicator of a player, but if we're just going to blindly follow everything the coaching staff or front office says then what's the point in even talking here? We should all just be nodding our heads in agreement like a bunch of lemmings.

Actually no. I am to young to remember the 80 team unfortunately. I was more 90’s. Nobody ever mentioned these numbers. Know the game is all scientific and critiques every thing of a player which is total nonsense

You missed my edit. #6 is your favorite, Clutterbuck. Also, another favorite of yours, Ross The Boss Johnston scores higher than Ryan Pulock.

Point is quantity of shots is a weak indicator. Quality of shots is far more important. I'm not sure anyone has developed such a statistical measurement, unfortunately.
