The writer of that article mentions he thinks, but hasn't confirmed, the Isles are at the 50 contract limit. CapFriendly has them at 45. So I'm not really sure who to believe. If they are at the 50 contract limit, they'd have to clear some people out before they could sign him to an ELC.

Rookie Michael Dal Colle played right wing on the fourth line on Wednesday night. #Isles coach Barry Trotz said he believes that was the first time since "Pee Wee" Dal Colle had played on the right side.

this doesn't make a lot of sense to me. I guess they were supremely worried about upsetting Ross Johnston's game by playing him on the opposite side instead?

Oh well, on to the next one. Judging by practice yesterday I guess there are no changes other than shuffling stuff. With players knocking on the door on D and F, I thought they'd call some of them up even just for the weekend to send a message that the last two games are entirely unacceptable no matter what the talent level is on the team.

Trusted source tells me Oliver Wahlstrom (NYI) is looking for a move from Boston College, but does not want to go to the 'Q' (Cape Breton has his rights), hence USHL Tri-City's sudden interest

I don’t believe he’s able to play in the A as he’s not 19 yet.

I was thankfully not able to see that game Live on Wednesday. Watching the Highlights (lowlights) and it's the same sht. I really don't know what Trots can do to get Leddy and Hickey to understand they are defenseman. Watch the first goal and you see Leddy do his famous pinch at his own blue-line. He missed the puck b/c this isn't pee wee hockey and they just chip it ahead of the moron and thank him for the 2-on-1.

Second goal just a good shot on PP.. not much you can do about it.

The 3rd goal you have a bad give away by Mayfield but then wtf is Hickey doing? He is just standing there with no one near him and lets the guy walk in for the goal.

4th goal you have another bad Leddy pinch.. this time in the o-zone.. leaving Gionta of all people to man the blue line. He is essentially a traffic cone so u have another odd man rush.

5th goal is Boychuk too slow...

But there are at least 3 other odd man rushes b/c either Hickey or Leddy just let a guy go by them as they are waiving at the puck. I really have had enough of both of them... they are just terrible.

I assume they watch game tape. WTF do they say to these idiots. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9MxfgIfMPbE

I think Trotz is trying to make Johnston into the Isles version of Wilson. Problem is no matter what you think of Wilson being dirty, he can actually play hockey. Can't say I even noticed Johnston in the 2 games he played except for the fight with McLeod

Maybe MDC never makes it but I do not understand the Isles thinking with him. I'm not sure what the Isles think MDC will show playing on the 4th line and again this is not a loaded Isles team?

I missed most of the game, but watching the highlights you posted, I agree with your assessment. I would just add that it appeared that Georgiev outplayed Lehner, too, so the loss was a real team effort.

You weren't kidding about McLeod's fighting ability. If Trotz is trying to make Johnston into the Isles version of Tom Wilson, he'd better play him a little more. Johnston has only played like 5 games all season.

Hey, Johnston is a +1 on the season. Gionta is -3. Ebs and Beau are -9. Barzal is -12. Not saying Johnston is a great player, but his limited minutes in limited games are hardly the Isles' biggest problem.
