I have not budged and inch on Komarov. He is god awful at everything.

Filppula hasn't been perfect but he has typically played his role and done pretty well. Martin's looked like he less concerned about leading the NHL in hits, too. No complaints about him so far.

I dont mind him so far (komorov) but the deal is god awful

I can't figure out what his role actually is. I thought he was kind of a shit-stirrer, but I haven't seen too much of that. I guess he's worth $3M a year to them to be a well-liked guy in the locker room

Whatever, not gonna keep complaining..they're on a 4gm win streak and that's pretty impressive.

Doesn't matter what you feel about the players individually. The team is playing with a purpose and everyone has bought in. Players are going to make mistakes. If they didn't every game would be 0-0.
Nice to see Trotz getting everyone on the same page so quickly. Not an easy thing to do.
Still can't believe he is the coach of the NY Islanders.

They need to keep going without any let up and this could be a really fun season.

People are all over isles for shors for and against and hornick sent this out

Good time to remind you that the team who had the fewest shots on goal last season also won the #StanleyCup. The coach had something to do with it. https://t.co/dfSNfP5l02

I wouldn't mind Komarov if we didn't already have the fourth line. He seems to be working hard enough out there, and he doesn't lose every single board battle like Ladd and Corndoggle, but the other similar players on the fourth line bring something extra: Martin is a checking machine, Cizikas' tenacity is always dialed up to 11, and Clutterbuck has a great wrister that can take a goalie by surprise. Komarov would be a good 13th forward to fill in for one of those guys if they get hurt or if they need a wake-up call. I'm just not crazy about him on the third line in addition to having that fourth line.

That said...they keep winning divisional games like this and I'll happily live with Komarov on the third line...

Filppula I thought was going to be another Rolston...coasting, avoiding all contact, and kicking back and cashing checks...but he hasn't been. He's done some subtle things well up to this point. Things like taking one extra step toward the boards to open a lane, or being patient for that extra half-second before making a pass. I wouldn't mind seeing him anchor a third line with slightly upgraded linemates.

Filly is a tougher Frans. Filly with Bellows could be interesting.

Trotz had that line out against 87 a lot last night and had the last change so he must feel good about them. Also clutterbuck is almost at 40 games without a goal which is amazing

I hear a lot of complaining about Bellows not being here, but he's 1g-2a-3pts in 9gp in Bridgeport. The reality is that he hasn't earned the right to be here yet and he's not exactly lighting the world on fire down in the AHL. He is where he belongs right now and that's totally fine, all part of the process.

There is a perfectly reasonable argument for Toews being here, however. But hard to argue anything on a 4-game win streak.

Wasn't there someone who kept saying that Cizikas and Clutterbuck could play on scoring lines?
