Ok Boys 1:00 puck drop against the Flyers.
Looks like the Andrew Ladd with Barzal experiment is over for now. Nice to see Trotz pulling the trigger on this sooner rather than later. I think the BBE line is going to have a huge game.
Do you think they win or lose?

Cpt. hope your out fishing

It's game day, yay. I hate that third line. Actually hate any line ladd is on, he's such a turd. I'd like to see Bellows and Ho-Sang up on this team asap. At least they'd bring some excitement to the line up. We know Ho can play at the NHL level. Just one guys opinion.

That's the weird part of the Ho Sang saga. Two seasons ago, he played very effectively when he was called up mid-season. Not sure what happened after that. It seems like he made a lot of the same mistakes Barzal was making.....and still makes occasionally, i.e., trying to do too much by holding onto the puck too long.......but the coaches just couldn't get through to him. It also seems like Barzal was given better linemates last season; he was centering the 2nd line (Ebs and Beau), while Ho Sang got stuck on the ineffective 3rd line with Nelson and Ladd. Regardless, the bottom line for me is that Ho Sang's formidable skills may never be able to compensate for his biggest problem which is between his ears.

Ho Sang is crapping the bed in Bridgeport he has done nothing to warrant a call up I’ve read some things speculating he’s injured which if it’s the case it makes zero sense that he’s continuing to play. I’m going to assume toews and maybe even bellows will be up sooner or later if the team continues to slide.

The problem is I believe this team is going to have those good games here and there which is normal for a team in the Isles situation. This in turn is going to possibly stop Lameriello from calling up a player like toews or bellows. Total speculation on my part of course but in the end with our defense the way it has been and what Toews showed in preseason I can’t think of a good reason to keep the kid down there. This team is going to have pretty consistent lows with occasional highs for the rest of the season imo. Pretty much what we’ve seen so far but if we’re going under the premise of player evaluation for this season well let’s start evaluating the players that matter.

That’s not nice.

I’m going to say they win. Two teams trying to get out of a few bad games match up but I see the isles winning this then losing the next two or three and that’s going to be a microcosm of our season.

Agreed JS.

Reason why so many teams including team Canada passed on him. “ Uncoachable “ was a word used by many.

No doubt the skill is there but you can’t fix/coach stupid unfortunately. Hopefully someone can break through to him.

I hear you, but we need to start scoring goals. I definitely want to see Bellows, I mention Ho Sang too because the success he had a couple years ago. You're prob right that a call up for Ho Sang is not warranted, nonetheless he's fun to watch. We are actually 6th currently for goals against in the league. Although I realize it's a small sample size, it's still an improvement. The problem is were 26th in goals for. Ironically, I think the team was more fun to watch last year when the GF/GA were flipflopped

Meh I’ll disagree with you on which team was more entertaining to watch purely my opinion of course. I think last seasons team was some of the worst shat I’ve watched in my life as far as the Islanders go. It was that bad. Not that this team is fun to watch either because they most definitely haven’t been for the most part but that disaster we watched last season was beyond words bad.😂

I agree. Offense is more fun to watch than defense. However, defense is what wins Stanley Cups.

You must have loved the Devils' trap game 20 years ago. Effective, but BORING! Like watching soccer.

Just love structure and taking care of your own zone. Offensive opportunities will come from solid defense.

Funny just watched Liverpool vs. Cardiff Premier League Soccer

Frankly both suck. But, as bad as our D is this yr they are somehow keeping the GA down this yr., but we can't score. I guess that's what happens when the team buys into playing defense. I'd rather watch the high scoring games of the 80's/90's than the trap the Devils played. Not that we're playing a trap, but not scoring goals is boorriing.
