Bad. I believe chiefs or upstate or both called it an abortion. And this was when the Islanders were winning. Lots of whistles. No flow. Tough to watch.

Yeah, to take a 2-goal lead into the final period and only come away with one point kind of sucks.

The Islanders somehow out-abortioned the very abortion-y Panthers. I left for my hockey game and it was 2-0. I got there and it was 3-2 and the game was over.

MDC is never making the isles.

Hickey was not to blame for Burns goal. He was covering the pass. If he commits fully to burns he leaves guy on other side wide open for tap in. How about burns being a world class talent and scored a nice goal on lehner. it’s drives me crazy when guys dont understand the game.

Isles will win tonight vs florida.

A. pretty sure everyone said it's a long shot for MDC to make the NHL.. not just the Isles but maybe b/c of his size he could end up being a bottom six player.
B. Pretty sure I blamed their first goal on Hickey because he dove at the blue line to try and get to the puck to clear the zone and missed causing a horrific 3 on 2 while dopey scrambled to get back. He is way too small, way to soft and fails to take the body. He has been responsible for over 50% of the goals against so far this season. You are blind if you don't see it... even the Burns goal that you are defending him on he could have taken the body to prevent him from walking in front of his net and scoring on a back hand shot in the crease.
C. I love when guys on these boards take shots at other for not "understanding the game". Take it easy coach... I have never read anything you wrote and thought.. Wow, that guy sure knows his hockey.
D- Isles lost.. good call

yet hickey was a +1 on the night. which is why his plus/minus from last year is a mirage. He's not good.

That game was painful. Sloppy all throughout, but at least during the first two periods they were, I guess, responsibly sloppy with where the puck ended up. In the third, there were so many giveaways in terrible areas. I'm not sure if I can point to one player who looked good through all 60 minutes. The only positive is their overall positioning in the d-zone was better than last year.

Ladd is an anchor that Barzal and Eberle are pulling around on the first line. He gets in Barzal's way, flubs his passes, and constantly gives the puck away along the boards.

The second line is missing something. I don't think any of the three are playing bad, but the line doesn't seem to have that guy that everything flows through.

Beau looked like the only player on that spare-part line that had a pulse, so maybe it's time to reunite him with Barzal and Eberle.

In general, the team just looked slow, slow, slow. There are like three or four players with good wheels and then a lot of skating through mud.

So far komorov and filppula are what the advanced stats said they were and that is dogpoop. Leddy is terrible so far hickey isnt good either. Doesnt matter the system if guys cant move the puck with intelligence and purpose. Amazing but the loss of pj boy takes bailey and lee down 2 notches and forces the barzal line to be targeted, you can hate him but he drove the top two lines offensively that much is clear. For me this team is not good and not going to get better, i pray they just suck and get a top 3 pick amd bring up some younger guys and get them some experience

Hopefully next game Barry puts Barxal Beau and Eberle. This team does have a lack of speed. I agree the Lee Bailey and Nelson line is missing something as well. The coaching is very good for this team now but team needs more speed and skill. Let's hope Toews and Aho make appearances soon.

The lack of shooting as a team has been a problem for a while. The great thing about Bellows is he is a shooter.

I know. Last night there was some golden oppurtunities and they are passing. Nelson then was in the slot was hesitant to shoot and when he decided too he whiffed on it. This team needs shooters. It’s frustrating when the 4th and 3rd line is leading your team in scoring when just a little adjustment needs to be made like shooting

This team has a bad mix right now and they need more roster turnover. Coaching is a big part but is not the only part. The roster has been stale for years. Hickey should not have been brought back and Toews needed to start the season with the Isles. Leo should have never been given 4 years and I'll never understand Martin returning when you have Johnston younger, cheaper, and better.

I honestly feel by the end of this year we will have basically a whole new team.
