You guys trying to break a record in pages?

Maybe its time to upgrade to Will the Islanders Make The Playoffs 2019

- mdw7413

We'll see how high we can go before the site breaks.

It is getting annoying having all those page links at the bottom. We should start a new thread. Maybe "How fat is MDW's girlfriend".

Forget the mask. I hope Greiss can stop the puck.

- ses111

I thought the exact same thing...….don't worry about the mask when you're letting in 5 a night. Maybe that mask shoulda had a wall painted on it.

I bet he gets extended mid season. No way Lou lets him get to July 1. Rookie move...
- kindlyrick

Maybe, I'm not speculating on whether or not it gets done...just saying that if they can't figure it out soon then they need to move him somewhere and get some solid assets for him. Otherwise this is the exact same thing we went through over the summer, be it with a far less talented player.

I highly doubt he can take a two hand to the face as well as Hollweg.

All started because of Chiefs

My GF actually saw one of his posts and wanted to PM him

Agreed, although I have to think its a different scenario being that a GM and Coach with experience are in charge. My feeling is while the "C" doesn't mean much to us, I don't think they slap that on Lee without thinking his a cog on the wheel going forward. He's a legit piece to a cup puzzle. He's possibly one of the best in front of the net in the league. They're gonna lock him long term...….imho

Like you had to question that? That play will forever be burned in my head. It was up there with the Bertuzzi sucker punch. Granted I was happy when Simon did it lol

It certainly seemed like giving him the C was cementing his future here, but I'm pretty nervous about giving him a long-term deal. He's not off to a particularly impressive start this year (and just like MDC and any other person, yes it's a small sample that shouldn't be used to make long-term predictions) without Tavares, so giving him a huge deal for 8 years is could really blow up in their faces.

I mean I wouldn't offer him huge money, but I think 6 a year for 6 years is doable. Im not worried about his play, as this years team blows. He's great for the PP, and given the proper playmaker (i.e Tavares) he can put up some numbers with garbage in front of the net.

Good points but if the right deal came along I would still consider it. The way I look at it now this season is most likely a wash so giving these kids playing time in the near future is paramount. If they perform to or above expectations then you consider trading underperforming players. The flip side is if Leddy continues to stink it up it only hurts his value so it’s kind of a double edged sword situation.

But the idea is also to finally establish a winning culture here. I don't think you do that by throwing rookies into the hardest possible minutes with no support at all should they need it. That seems to be a way to rack up more embarrassing losses faster, to the point where everyone tunes out and the culture remains what it is.

I agree some of the kids -- and especially a 24-year old "kid" like Toews who's obviously ready to be tested at the next level -- should get playing time soon. Heck, he should have had playing time already. But that can happen by taking over second- and bottom-pair roles from marginal NHLers rather than on the top pair. I don't even think Pulock should be on the top pair, but he has to be because there are no other right-side top-pair options...which brings me back to the desperate need to add quality d-men at the top of the depth chart so everyone else can slide down into roles they're more suited to.

I'll qualify all of that by saying that, obviously, if someone comes calling and is willing to overpay for just about anyone on the roster, you do it. But I wouldn't be looking to trade from a position of weakness unless the wheels have already come off completely (so...maybe by the trade deadline? )

If you need a veteran Dman, boy have I got the deal for you.

Comes from a hockey pedigree family. Was a 1st round pick. Plays big minutes.

We will even throw in a 2nd round pic for future considerations.
