Hanging with friends watching/drinking a couple he made a couple gaffs maybe missed some others also but man Pelech was (frank)ing disgusting Hickey with his usual in front pass to the opposing team he does so consistently. Was hoping Leddy would turn it around needs to start happening. Turn the page on to the next one...

All starts on the backend. Isles need D that will not panic with the puck at the first sign of pressure.

No shame in losing to Nashville. It sucks but no shame.

What sucks is the (frank)ing D. Anything would be better than whatever the hell Hickey was attempting to do tonight.

Boychuck and Mayfield were awful too. That was shocking how bad the D played, even for our team. Poor positioning, weak on the puck, soft passes, soft clearing attempts, awful decision making...garbage.

Then they tightened up in the second and third save for the two knuckle heads I mentioned. They were sunk in the first there was no coming back from that against a team like Nashville.

The system will be much better under Barry. Still need dman that are not afraid to handle the puck.

#Isles Barry Trotz on separating Adam Pelech and Ryan Pulock D pairing: "I didn’t think Pelly was good today. It was probably his weakest game so far, unfortunately. You’re going to have that. He’s playing bigger minutes and in more important situations."

Sorry but Hickey looked like a 10 year old playing against men last night.

For Me there wasn’t a dman out there last night that wouldn’t want to forget about the game and move on. Forwards as much to blame as the dman.
The team took Off most of the first period which you just can’t do. Especially against one of the best teams in the league.
The turn overs on each blue line caused havoc and odd man rushes which honestly reminded me of the d optional years. Just poor puck management all around by everyone.
It’s a work in progress. Hopefully we don’t see to many of these stinkers.

I know the new coaches will have some positive effect , but its the same 6 defensive players that were here last year. They were awful last year. How much better can we expect them to be this year and in the future?? Yes , Pulock has the offensive upside, but defensively , as a whole , they are not good. Last night was an example of what we are going to get all season long. Some positive periods, maybe even two good periods a game , that will lead to some wins. But, when playing against a top NHL team, 8 out of 10 times , they are going to lose. Nashville made them look bad. These next 3 games are probably going to be the same. Maybe they will steal 1 , but , if these 3 teams play like they are suppose to, it will be ugly. It's going to be a long season guys. We are going to have to take it like always. Maybe Pelech will get better with the coaching. Hopefully , Teows and Aho get up here at some point for the experience. But with this defense, I just have no hope of a good season, If that was last years goal tending last night and against Carolina , they would have given up 7.

Good points but defensive awareness and play needs to be executed by the whole team forwards and dman, as a unit of 5.
Forwards can’t give the puck up on either blue line and expect the dman will make it all better. If nothing is there as far as pass chip it in. Have to manage the puck with a defense first approach and the whole team especially in the first period weren’t even close to doing that. The d zone play and decisions made were ugly. Need to move on and be ready to play next game.

Will be interesting to see where the team is at the 10 game mark. I do think changes to the defensive personnel have to happen. Think it is important to get a look at Toews and Aho and maybe Bellows and Ho Sang later on.

Its only been 4 games. I don't think you'll see any of those guys anytime soon. I don't think you'll see Ho Sang at all.

One terrible period, one good period, and one period that would have been just fine if they were protecting a two-goal lead instead of chasing a one-goal deficit. Barzal looked a little slower than usual last night...I don't know if Nashville's that fast or if he just didn't have the extra gear working.

Overall, I think the Isles are just going to be flat out overmatched against the league's better teams. Not that they'll always lose against those teams...if Trotz gets them working hard, they'll win games and put on a good show more often than not, but if they take their foot off the gas at all during games, they'll pay for it more than some other teams. It was pretty obvious that the talent of Nashville's forwards was just better than the talent of the Isles' defense, even if the Isles were able to hang in there a lot better when they played within the system. Yeah, there were correctable errors the d-men made individually, etc., but some of those were probably because they felt the heat during the game playing against that kind of skill. And there are some insanely offensively talented teams this year that are going to give this D-corps trouble as it stands.

The way the D played Saturday night, there's some P.A.L. teams that could give them trouble. What a putrid game (mostly 1st period). Hickey & Pelech mostly. JB looked slow and almost confused as to where he was supposed to be. Like he was fighting his own natural instinct to chase the puck carrier.
On the positive side, I was impressed with Lehner. He looked solid. Positioning and angles looked good. Out at the top of the crease challenging shooters. A few soft rebounds but otherwise, think his rebound control was pretty good too. The D hung him out to dry several times. Didn't think Nelson looked bad either.
