We've seen these flashes before. When he does it on a consistant basis I'll be convinced.

Yep I think everyone has this line of thinking...

I think this kid is a keeper. I think he should have started with the big club for at least a few games but with that said him being down there getting some real minutes will help his development.

Already talk that Toronto won't be able to pay marner next year. I hope they cant afford him or nylander and never win poop
- Upstate_isles

I hope them signing Tavares turns into an unmitigated disaster for multiple reasons. I love how they’re trying to sell to all of these up and comers to take a pay cut to have the honor of playing with Tavares. I hope it completely back fires these kids and their agents would be idiots to take a million or two less because of it.

It's not even in the top ten worst things about being an Islander fan.

I have to say I can't stand Joe Micheletti. I hated him when he was doing Islander games.

I like him in the playoffs, but him and Sam together are just brutal

unfortunate we lost but we definitely were the better team. i guess thats is how it balances out. The structure is there and can only improve as they get better with it. The PP looks phenomenal.

Sure Bailey can shoot more but his pass at end of game was actually a nice setup. He does have a better show than he give himself credit for. He does have 3 times the amount of points of Tavares thus far. LOL

i wonder if pajama boy did another interview last night after losing to Ottawa. Anyone catch that crap of him trying to give Nylander advice of making right decision and not to get too greedy.
Oh yeah JT, forget nylander - what is Matthews worth? That toronto salary situation can get very ugly fast. If they dont go far, it could turn into a disaster there.

Maybe, i think ronaldo pinned him and pushed him a little in second and maybe martin had some words but not like he threw off gloves and went at him

JT is a fine offensive player but he does nothing for the defense and leadership. JT was not a major need for the Leafs.

Very nice Isles have Bellows and Toews to call on. Nice to have some options in Bridge for once.

Meh, I think it’s to keep the team together. Not uncommon for RFAs to take bridge deals for this reason.

I don’t see the Rangers trading for him when they can sign him as a FA this summer.

If Columbus is in the POs at the deadline He and Bob may not even be traded imho.

crazy how none of his previous coaches could seem to light a fire under him. Almost like they had no idea what they were doing.

We've seen this before from Nelson. He'll start off good then disappear. I'm going to give him a month or two before passing judgement.

I know, I know but it all comes back to the same thing. We paid this guy a huge contract so take a cut so we can win. Nylander has zero leverage of course unless he asks for a trade. That happens they have the cap room to sign Marner. Obviously all related but ultimately this “jam” was perpetrated by signing Tavares.

Oh yeah they went all in this year signing him. Like you I hope it doesn’t pay off for them

For sure Jimmy, but he is playing with 2 talented line mates and I think that will help him if Trotz keeps them together. He has played all over the place as far as wing and C and then from line to line. Hard to gain an identity when this is the case.

Now in all likelyhood this will work out but if Nylander doesn’t sign hypothetically it would be because they signed Tavares. Dubas wouldn’t be playing hardball to this extent if they didn’t lock him up. Nylander is refusing to sign a bridge with no leverage...

Have to agree 7. No sense for the Rangers to give up assets this year for Panarin. I'm not sure the Isles should throw big money at Bob. Rather the Isles find out a way to bring Sorokin in next year.

I saw no need for another 1C when you have Matthews. Use the money to improve the D. Offense is not the issue.

I love the excuses are done for Nelson. No reason he cannot put up good numbers with the wings he has.

Yeah they will give up the assets they got for the rebuild instead of waiting till he is a UFA and it just costs money.

Will be interesting to see if the Isles are in the mix? If Isles finish ahead of the Rangers will that help or is Panarin all in for the Rangers? Panarin is a fine player, but Isles might need a 2C more.

Yeah, I have no idea. Rangers should go all in for him, but who knows if Panarin even wants to come to the Rangers. Weird that he doesn't want to be in Columbus. They don't have a bad team.

It's strange the thinking behind some of these FA's. You would think top FA's would only want to sign with contending teams if possible? I get it's NY but the Rangers or Isles should not be prime destinations right now. in a few years both teams should be very attractive.
