My two cents: I like where this organization is much more at this time than I did at this time last year. I’d trade losing Tavares for gaining Lamorillo and Trotz any day. The system is filled with good talent. The NHL roster has some good young pieces already.

I still can’t believe all the outrage over the contracts and signings his summer. Martin is a two year-$5M commitment. So what Hickey was extended? He’s a third pair d-man. Kuhnackle amd fillpula were one year deals. Who cares? Komarov looks like the only questionable move. No deal was a long term crippler.

- Jethro09

My opinion is the Komarov signing was to help the PK and bring in a character guy. Being that he wore an A on the leafs and is a hard hat hockey guy, my sentiment is Lou brought in a lockeroom guy to (as he put it) change the culture of this team. I also have no problem with how things have progressed (in three months).

I don't like it because it helped the Leafs. They were paying Martin to sit on the bench and eat up cap space. The Leafs should have paid the Isles to take him back. Plus the Isles didn't need him at all. There are tons of guys that will fill his role for the league minimum.
- JimmyP

Not to mention that we had guys that fill his role for well over the league minimum already on the team🤪

I have news for you: we’re not competing with the Leafs right now. They’re way ahead of us. In a few years when Martins deal is off the books, we’ll be competing with them.

I respectfully disagree. The 4th line in a whole and individualy CC and Clutter(frank) haven’t been the same since MM left. They had a good thing going.
Lou gave up a bag of pucks for him and it cost 2.5 million of Cap space ( for 2 years) to see if they can get the success they had as a line again. Not a big deal. If they do it solves some of the bottom six play, if not who gives a shat! Leafs are competing for the cup and will be in Cap hell with or without MM salary, for crying out loud.

I know it’s unpopular to say on here because basically everyone on here said he could be replaced by anyone however, it just wasn’t the case and honestly the 4th line was a big part of the success the Islanders as a team had in the 2014-15 and 2015-16 seasons. Anyone that doesn’t admit to that is FOS.

Ok fire away I’m used to it!

Fine you believe blowing cap space on crap players for two to four years is fine. I don’t. I think if we’re looking to be competitive anytime in the near future wasting cap space on these players is moronic especially while helping a team that just signed our “franchise center” which to me is an extra slap in the face. You won’t change my mind I won’t change yours I think we established that.

More importantly John Tavares believes he should get a warm welcome when he comes back for his first game;

“I wish I was able to do a better job and lead the team to more success. It’s something I’ll always have to look back on and wish I could have done more and did a better job leading the team. But we’ll see what happens. I hope it’s positive because I know the positive impact they all made on me.”

This guy is (frank)ing nuts what a douche. I think we can all agree that he needs to get completely (frank)ing destroyed when he comes back in the stands and on the ice the (frank)ing turd.😃

Is he seriously mental? I mean I like the analogy that the way he left the isles is like a guy who just doesnt know how to break up with his girlfriend, so he strings her along till the absolute last minute. After reading his comments it further solidifies that theory. Is he out of his mind???? He left the isles high and dry.......he's gonna get the biggest boo in the history of pro sports. I'll be shocked if there isnt a TV timeout from all the sh!t thrown on the ice.

I have news for you - every team is competing with every other team all the time. You don't help out another team, especially one that just (frank)ed you.

Martin's contract isn't the end of the world, but there was no reason to trade for him and bail the Leafs out.

I really dont see it that way.......I dont think the isles helped the leafs. They brought back a piece to a puzzle that was successful on the island.

We'll see what happens under new coaching, but I'll be shocked if the CCM line matches the intensity they had years ago. Clutter is older and gets hurt more. Casey too. I think the CCM ship has sailed. Again, we'll see how it plays out.

If the 4th line can come back to we’re they were or even close then the 2.5 mil is shat.

We agree as far as JT. PHUCK HIM ! I could give a shat what he says or does and I want the team to beat him physically when he comes here to play us.
I think the fans are going to boo him mercilessly when he comes back and rightfully so.
