I can see it being boychuck. That's the first guy I thought of but who knows. Yeah I would love to see him go through the glass with Tavares. Guy's a frauds some letter expressing his love for Snow doesn't change that it actually makes me dislike him more.

Phony as they come. Some will feed at that trough I will not be one of them. I knew he was leaving a year ago nobody wanted to believe it unfortunately Garf and the owners bought into the bullshat. That's where this all went wrong besides Snow just being completely incompetent at his job and not being able to do just about ANYTHING in 12 years which led us to that day.

Cpt, a lot of us were concerned when JT refused to re-sign last summer, but you were the only one who consistently said to trade him. My own thought was that Garth had to know his players and their personalities better than me, but it turned out to be just another Garth failure.

Of course, BD would have you believe that JT left, because his loyalty was to Garth, not to the Islanders and their fans. So it was the owners' fault for dumping Garth in favor of Lou.

Bottom line: Garth could not accept last summer the reality that Tavares was considering leaving despite their wonderful relationship. And BD still cannot accept the reality that Garth was an incompetent GM.

Thats the reason i am not all doom and gloom... look at Colorado... Duchene was supposed to be their savior... he left and they had the best season they have had in a while...bet most people couldn't name 4 players on that team... Mackinnon had the year of his life...last year he had 16 goals get rid of duchene and he has 39.. who is to say Kovar or Nelson doesn't have a break out year...wishful thinking i know but he was no leader and could have been part of the problem and not the solution

I loved tavares thought he was a good player especially compared to the vast majority of crap we had on the team but he was to me overrated by the fanbase. That's not sour grapes I had my issues with his game always had as anyone can attest to. The lead by example routine that a lot spouted over the years I never bought into because the guy was very good at vanishing when we needed him the most save for a couple times. That to me is not leading by example. To me tavares is replaceable just by adding depth through the line up because this team hasn't had that since the early nineties hence my aggravation with the seemingly current direction SO FAR.

If we're not really trying to improve the team presently because tavares left then that's a gross misstep by current management imo. That's a very dangerous lane to stroll down after what we've been doing for the last twelve years and sends a terrible message especially to a player like Barzal. We should be doing everything in our power to be competitive right now not the opposite.

Yep. Bullshat. His childhood dream started 3 days before free agency. Any fan who mops this nonsense up needs to inhale water. Wonder how much he paid someone to write that?
- Cptmjl

His childhood dream started when Stamkos didn’t go to Toronto and opened the door for JT to go there. Whatever. He’s in the rear view mirror now. I’ve purged my house and office of anything JT. I’m ready for the next phase..of a team of fourth liners and back pair d-men

I read it, I understand it. I appreciate what he was to the Isles and wish him good luck. End of story for me.
- Isles_since_6

I don’t wish him I’ll-will, but I don’t wish him luck either. If he never scores another point again or if he wins four cups I could care less at this point. JT is old news for me now.

The franchise will bounce back. I know it will. It’ll just be a few years before it does. And it’ll be a different look.

Or the usual "I'm just focusing on hockey right now."

I 100% agree with you. Of course its Snow's and the owners fault that's elementary at this point but he went about EVERYTHING the wrong way on the way out. It seemed almost purposeful. I wish him nothing but the worst. Break a leg out there tavares. In fact why dont you break two? When we play them if this team of (frank)ing apes takes it easy on him I'll vomit. I can see some of our players doing that especially Martin.

I am ok with 2 years of regular Isles hockey...maybe make playoff maybe not.. i don't want to give away anything for free in the expansion draft let them take a mayfield or cizikas protect the core and don't give away draft to protect what isn't worth protecting

JT is a douche. That letter was written because Isles fans are calling him out, just like we are. He doesn't want to be viewed as "the bad guy" so out comes this letter. It's typical of him. He wants everyone to like him. He seems very insecure to me. Insecure people do not make good leaders. Which is why he's not a great leader. He's going to shit those boyhood Leaf sheets when the Toronto media starts lacing into him for not playing defense, staying out too long in OT or giving up the puck trying to do too much and the opponent scores (hopefully the Isles).
I know you were calling for him to be traded before last season, Cpt. I believe you were alone in that boat (no pun intended). I thought at the deadline would have been sufficient time for him to decide before getting traded. But since we had a can of bug spray for a GM, nothing happened. Hence, here we are. Fuck him. I hope he doesn't get into the playoffs anymore.
I'm not big on a couple of these contracts that Lou signed, but I'm willing to see how it pans out. Trades? Don't know. Maybe they'll just be a bunch of lunch-pailers that works their asses off and wins games by playing sound, positional hockey and capitalizing on opportunities. Or maybe they'll lose 75 games. We shall see.

The team as constructed now will lose. This isn't the Vegas Knights and in all honesty the people comparing the two to try and find some shred of positivity about our team presently are laughable. This team will not surprise anyone it's slow and cumbersome save for one line and that doesn't win games. The hey "you never know" NY Lotto catch phrase does not apply to the NY Islanders presently
