Faulk perhaps maybe duchenne idk
- Upstate_isles

Does faulk put up pts? Believe it or not Hickey put up decent pts as a bottom pair dman (waits for attacks) I know, not popular, but the new nhl needs d that score.

I said it - before he left - and got laughed at, but Barzel is better.

Only McDavid can, but Barzal does it different. The way he winds up down low and carries the puck is unreal. He can carry the team now. Just need a 2nd center to replace close to him last year.

He really can be better than tavares as he has great vision and speed but he has to do it again, teams will be ready for him but that speed is killer

More pressure on Barzal without JT for sure, but it's not going to make it easier for defenders to keep up with Barzal. Going to be interesting to see if Beau stays with Barzal or he goes to 2C?

I haven't been quoted here, as I'm kind of new, but I've been telling my buddy for yrs that Tavares is overrated. His positive attributes are down low play, period. He cant skate in the neutral zone like the true elite, and that's a big deal. Give him the puck down low and be careful, but other than that, might as well have Lee. He's not going to put the leafs over the top. Mark my words. We do need another center though...

Lee may move onto that line but I would keep it the same if at all possible

Leafs need d but Tavares advanced stats show him trending down, he will make a difference in that team though. Duchene fits perfectly but who knows if hes available spezza too

Who's gonna stop him? And having Matt (linchpin) Martin will be a huge attribute for him. NOONE will fVck with him. I know, we helped the leafs, blahbla, but that guy will run through a wall for his guys and although he's not the premier enforceror in the league, he wont let anyone mess with Barzy.

I would also keep the Barzal line the same and play Nelson as 2C with Bailey and Lee if Nelson is not traded.

No doubt. Cant break up BBE Line. They were deadly last year. Just need a solid centerman for Baily and Lee. OR maybe (I know again not popular) put Baily at center and add a scoring winger.

I suggested Bailey at center and it did not go over well on the board. The guy was drafted as a Center and loves to pass. Isles need to decide on Nelson and will have to decide on Lee soon.

I agree with most of what you posted, but I think you are selling him a short. He has excellent shooting and passing ability. I think his ability to control the puck down low is underrated. There were many times that he created time and space for someone to get open and score.

I don't disagree that the new speed trend in the NHL will pass right by him in a few years.

They may have to unless they are moving Bailey back to C.

Yeah, well we're all in it for the same reason, and have differing opinions which for the majority make sense. If I had the keys I'd likely trade Baily and Lee on their highs, but that's just me. But if I'm playing the cards we're dealt, I'd put Bailey at center for the reason you suggested and see if Trotz can make Nelson a little hungrier. Trotz did amazing things for Ovi, turned him from a huge negative player to buying into a system and ultimately winning a cup.

I'll accept that, his time and space recognition is above the charts. But, I've also seen him muscled off the puck and give up on the play (and sometime fight to lift a stick for a turnover) but the cycle play is changing,

I think Upstate suggested Duschense. Is he really available. He would be an awesome centerman to get, especially positioned with bailey who likes to pass. Paccoriety too. He's rumored to be available. But Duchenese with the right guys could be perfect.

I guess its me vs the world. Where the (frank) is everyone. Trying to reason with myself is like letting Lou carry the shots. WTF. Happy 4th to all you guys! I love this sh!t. I love my isles, as dysfunctional as they are. I cant not root for them...

Even if that's all true, Lou at a minimum should have squeezed a draft pick out of the Leafs for removing that albatross from around their necks. Or gotten them to retain some salary. Martin was a healthy scratch for most of last season, I believe.........certainly after January 1.
- JohnScammo

Can we really refer to $2.5m as an albatross? I think that's a bit over the top. Martin's being a healthy scratch with TO last year may be more of a system/team need thing than reflection of his usefulness. Sure I would have loved for us to have gotten more in the deal but as i said, i don't see it as a big deal. If that 4th line can get that chemistry back and we add a dman and skill forward, i still say this team can be better. Let's give Lou some time here.

Fact CDH, bolted ( wrong again ) there may be a good chance that the Cane do look to move Faulk.
I think he’s a good fit with The Isles, it’s just a matter of what The Canes want in return.
Leddy and Faulk would be 2 good puck transporters from the back end and nice to have on the PP units.
