6 seasons of 60+ points 3 70+ and one 80+ I mean he comes close to tavares production and plays d

Karlsson would really help in forgetting the loss of JT. Until I hear Karlsson is willing to talk to the Isles. I'm trying not to think about it. I'd be happy with a good young goalie and D man pick up right now.

he is a better version of lee...can skate marginally better and can score down low..think he isn't able to keep up with barzal but kid does have one heck of a shot and isn't afraid

I mentioned in the past Bellows would be a lower version of Lee if the Isles traded Lee.

This team just lost its franchise player which hasn’t happened in years in the NHL with a player of JTs caliber.
On top of that the team has been a laughing stock of the league run by clowns for decades.
We have hired a proven and cup winning coach and GM in the last month. Does this help? Absolutely, will it cure our problems and change the face of the team immediately? Unfortunately not.
I’m thinking Lou’s plan is retool this team around its youth in the next couple years and be running on all cylinders with the opening of Belmont.
Can’t trade the future for a quick fix when it really isn’t there. If JT stayed I’m sure the Prospects and future picks would have been in play. Cudos to Lou for waiting on the JT decision before mortgaging the future without a firm commitment from the traitor 91.
Hopefully just Trotz implementing a D first mentality and structure will help the team become more competitive and preform much better than expected.

We as Islanders Fans need to trust in Lou and Trotz to turn this franchise into a winning competitive team. That said let’s give them more than a month to do it.

JT stays we can piss all over these signings. The fact he left and phucked us and the team that drafted and believed in him and his word, it’s a whole different plan imho and again will take some time.

My biggest upset is with ownership. They caused most of the problems and should have moved Garth aside when they finally fired Cappy. Ownership was too slow in reacting to problems. I do not blame JT leaving just the way he went about it.

I really cannot say that much on Bellows 7. I think he is a power forward type probably nowhere as good as Lee in front of the net and not as big of course.

No imho Lee has done it and has battled in the dirty areas in the NHL and scored 40 goals in a season and bellows hasn’t even sniffed it. I also think he’s more of a snipper than Lee is. Just my opinion. Totally different game.

i think if we traded Lee and put bellows in his spot there wouldn't be a loss in play level...i don't see us holding onto lee unless we want a repeat of Jt..lee is big on loyalty to garth..and i understood no way he could take that money and i don't blame him but something tells me he could leave out of spite that Garth was kicked out

I dont disagree with this at all but doesn't change my opinion on what I've seen so far. You can retool and remain competitive. Signing Thomas hickey to a 4 year deal is not doing that imo. That's doing more of the same of what we experienced for the last 12 years but like you said and I said earlier I'll give it some time.

No way is Bellows Lee 2.0 and he cannot be expected to be. You can only hope if Lee is traded, Bellows can be a nice add to the lineup and bring his own useful skills.

Yep. They dont pass the eye test either. I can't speak for Kooknickle or whatever the (frank) his name is bcs I dont even know who he is but the other two were donezo last season. Hopefully we can squeeze something out of them but it doesn't look good. Maybe they're character guys I dont know what the hell the thought process was/is but I would like to see more if we're not blowing it up all together which I dont think is a good idea.

That's a little suspicious that you never received my "private message". It did contain some information that was less than complimentary about BD, so I wonder if our private messages are not so private after all?

To make it worse, those scumbag Leafs fans were right about JT going there. JT was as transparent as limo tint. He knew all along he was going there. I have absolutely zero respect for him. I actually despise him. He's a piece of crap.
- Isleshockeyman

I have more respect right now for Kirk Muller than I do Tavares. At least that guy let everyone know right up front that he didn't want to be here.

There's a few higher up dudes that can read and delete PM messages from what I've been told before. I sent out messages to everyone when we came here and I KNOW some of them didnt reach the recipients. Now BD is trying to bait away again happy nobody is biting anymore.

I think the general consensus is we think he's a douche for telling everyone he wanted to stay for years, right up until he went to the Leafs for less term and money. It was reported he asked Snow not to trade him at the deadline. So the anger is more because he (frank)ed us, not that he left.
