Said the night of the TDL this is exactly how Lameriello would be judged if the team sputtered. Hopefully that doesn’t(continue) happen.

Hopefully not Cpt. Still very risky for Lou to not make any deals two years in a row at the deadline.

We aren't deep in forward prospects or picks so long term it makes more sense especially since we can get the same players for money only in July. Sucks but it was reality this year, I think he tried and didn't want to overpay

I did see this and maybe I am just trying to justify it in my head but often NOT making a move ends up being the best decision. If we had of traded for Duchene and gave up Dobson, First, and a Mid tier prospect.. do we win the cup this year? It's a tremendous gamble that cost us a lot of pieces. Same with Stone.. although a little different b/c he signed an extension immediately. They wanted Bouv, First, and prospect. ..... I would have loved either guy, but we could very easily end up with Duchene in July, or Panarin... and still have Beauv, Dobson, our first, etc.

I think in a couple of years when our top 4 D-men are Pulock, Toews, Dobson, and Wilde we might look back at this Trade deadline the same way we do now for not trading Barzal for duchene a few years ago....

Beauv is still very young.. He is going to be a very good player for the Isles for a long time. He is Fast, has good hands, and gives 100%.

I think if Lou can hit on one of the big FA's it's all good. If not then it could be trouble and Lou may need to trade a big D prospect for a top 6 forward. No trade at the deadline hurts this years team but it does not hurt the future. Lou needs a very good offseason.

I still think we have enough talent here already.. just needs to tweak what they are doing.. especially on the Power play. Leddy on the point has been horrific. Put Pulock and Boychuk on PP1 if for no other reason then they shoot the puck and know how to keep it in the zone. ... I despise having a 4 forwards on a power play. They are trying to make the perfect play... get Lee or Brock in front of the goalie and shoot the puck and bang in a rebound.

Actually it has been reported by Bob Mackenzie that Lou was very active at the deadline, and that the Islanders were the front runners for Stone. The deal with the Islanders only fell apart when Vegas caved in and agreed to deal Brannstrom. After that Dorion only had ears for Vegas, Brannstrom being that highly regarded by Ottawa.

Considering this, I think we should cut Lou some slack. Insiders have reported that he was active, but that for one reason or another things just didn’t pan out. He recognizes the need for additional scoring just as much as the rest of us.

No question schwein cannot get on Lou that much for this deadline but he really needs to hit on one of the top FA's and find a way to bring in an impact forward. I just hope Panarin or Duchene have serious interest in the Isles and they will not just use the Isles to bump up their price.

Pulock should be on PP1. Isles still need to bring in that impact forward this offseason. Just some tweaks will not be enough.

Oh I’m quite sure he’ll have better luck on deadline day. Money talks and the Islanders will have loads of it.

I would imagine this is not good news for some or all of Cizikas, Clutterbuck and Martin for tonight. 2 recalls on emergency conditions means the #Isles roster was down to, at best, 10 healthy forwards. https://t.co/Hh9ITrN6aM

The supposed ask was Dobson and a first for both players. As far as Beau is concerned I’m not sold on him he strikes me as a the type who may not ever find consistency. As far as free agency goes I think it’s easy to say we didn’t have to give up anything for Panarin, Duchene, or anyone else for that matter and just signed them for “free”. Let’s see if we can sign them first before we proclaim it as being positive.

I have no idea. I threw my hands up in disgust when i saw that pass make it through. Then wondered how the hell it didn't go in.

Of course McJesus probably needs to learn to skate just a little bit more before releasing that shot.
