On a serious note, I don’t agree with the highlighted portion.

Spot on here: "Barzal’s brilliance in creating scoring chances usually means that one of his teammates find an open space to bury in a goal. Usually that’s the case. Not this time.

His two linemates, Josh Bailey and Michael Dal Colle, were seemingly just watching the show unfold in front of them. The did very little to help Barzal retrieve the puck or even open up lanes for him to exploit. Barzal did it all on his own."

So on a serious note.

It’s pretty obvious the Rangers are going to move Hayes and Zuc, however you think they move Kreider as well or even consider it? He’s been really good for them this year and would think he’s part of the core you build around.

- nyisles7

I don't believe Kreider is going anywhere unless its a giant overpayment.imo

That’s what I think as well.

Zuc and Hayes are both UFAs and can sign with the Rangers in the off season correct? So might gain assets and get them back if they want. I thinking this about Hayes mostly.

Bailey for Brassard.

Brassard would be a fine Fili replacement next year at 3C.

I would be willing to do this if we let Brock go.. but IMHO Brock is a 3rd line center. My hope is all this banter of cap room and trade talk leads to us getting a 1c/2c and moving Brock down to 3C where he would be a very good 3c. He is a Sub/par 2C... but WTF do I know...

I think they both move on. Doubt either one comes back to a rebuilding team if they can sign on to a contender. Zuke because of his age, and Hayes because the Rangers didn't even offer him an extension. I would give a giant middle finger to the Rangers if they wanted to sign me in the summer

Don’t get me wrong I like Duchene but I’m a little concerned with what he would cost in terms of trading and also what he would cost to lock up. I think he’s good, is fast, good on draws, but I don’t think he’s great and will most likely be looking for 9+ Maybe even 10 a year to sign. That to me is elite money. Not sure he’s worth it? With that said we need center depth and he certainly provides that and with no centers really coming up for us it may be the best option we have. Kind of conflicted on Duchene.

Yup I feel similarly but then I realize we have lou making decisions and I have faith he will do the right thing even if that means waiting and not overpaying
