Really need Ray to do something in the next two days. Fourth and later round picks are not going to elevate this franchise. Need to be bold (not crazy like trading #1 OA or taking Makar with it). Come on Ray, show us what you got.

Nico -- unless we get an unreal package for the #1, which isn't completely unlikely, as Vegas still needs to dump some players.

If we trade down I feel like it will be some scenario where we end up at #3, Vegas at #1, and Dallas at #6. Hate all the speculation. Hopefully they keep #1, draft Nolan or Nico, and are done with it.

If VGK were to get the Flyers pick and wanted Patrick that bad, I would trade down for the 2nd, 13th, and 15th no problem. But it would probably be 2nd and 13th if that happened and I'd still do that.

Lets not forget the guy made the Pens into what they are today. I think he won't make any bad decisions and if one is made you don't agree with, then its for a purpose.

Whoever Shero picks I guarantee it'll make us all happy and relieved.

I hope its Nolan, because Nico could very well be a fluke. Nolan and Zacha both big bodied centermen could cause real trouble.

Want a laugh, a sabre fan in their previous thread said they should trade Kane for #3 and trade #3 and girgs for #1 since the devils want makar and we would also get a center

Nolan Patrick, all day, every day. best in the draft class for years and still is. nico had an awesome year and will be a great player too so I'm Ok if they go that route but a right handed big #1 center in Nolan Patrick playing with left hand shot Taylor Hall is the stuff that first lines are made of....

If we draft Nico, I suspect he lays with Palmieri as his shooter but then is Hall 2nd line or is Nico?

I just don't see how the devils could trade away the chance to draft a top line center something they haven't had in a very long time so I don't see them trading a pick to draft a defenseman I would focus on finding a diamond in the rough in the 2nd and 3rd rounds or make a trade with one of the 9 other picks we have

The Draft Lottery was April 29th, so like 8 weeks ago.... First Draft Lottery the Devils won since April 12, 2011.

I'm more interested in any deals the Devils make today; i.e.: trading picks for players. I'm still disappointed they gave away a 2nd for Mueller who, while still very young, did not appear to be in SJ immediate plans and thus should have only equated to a 3rd and a 4th (or 5th) rounder. That 2nd rd pick could have had some value today.

I doubt the Devils land Alex Galchenyuk (Mtl) since they don't have much to offer in return. My hope is that Mtl waits until July 1st at which time the Devs could sign and deal Kovy (and a future pick) for him.

I had the same reaction but I'm trying to think positively. We gave San Jose the 49th pick for a guy they took at 18th overall. And if we used that 49th pick on a defenseman he wouldn't be nearly as close to ready for the NHL as Mueller. Comparative to other deals we probably overpaid but if it works out and he's a decent defenseman it'll be fine. I mean we traded Lee Stempniak as a rental for a guy who *could* help our defense for years. And with defenseman he really is just hitting the point where we should evaluate him.

The Nathan Beaulieu trade looks like a better deal (and probably is) but that was a robbery... Schlemko for a fifth was a hell of bargin too.
