Last night was away from the puck. McLeod is a cheap pos and made it look unintentional. This is his last year in the NHL, so he's trying to make the most of it.
- Scooby_Doo

I rewound it on the old betamax and swear McLeod had a look before the hit, while there was still some space between him and Sven.

anyway, I guess that is the way it has been going lately with what the nhl has been calling or disciplining.

all the best to Sven for a speedy and full recovery.

I also think its time to give JV another shot at the big club, we need offense, what is there to lose?

Maybe this has been a stealth tank all along.

New plan:

Trade Hansen/Burrows/Miller and see if anyone wants the 4th line scraps.

Call up the reserves.

Granlund/Bo/Erikson
Sedin/Sedin/Grenier
Gaunce/Sutter/JV
whatever 4th liners remain.

I was thinking the same thing this morning but I was reluctant to post because of all the "player development theorists."

I think there is a difference there between bracing over coveting.
- Nuck4U

Have you seen February's schedule? Bracing is correct!

Nothing wrong with a call up, doesn't have to be for the rest of the season.
Give him a shot.
See what happens.
Put his locker next to Bo.

Nope...leave Jake in Utica.....gotta get his sense of entitlement out of his game. Give him a shot in training camp to show he has learned. If he hasn't completely turned it around send him back to Utica for another year. It makes no sense to gift him another opportunity at this stage # earn your ice

Still upset the Preds had that goal waved off in Vancouver on the "intent to blow" call. We need the points and probably had 2 in that game if the Ref is half way competent. Time for the Canucks to tank and get the better pick.

Because Daniel Sedin has certainly earned his ice time.

Daniel never showed up to camp 30 pounds overweight either ...

I agree that both need to get some time up here this season. I don't see it getting any lower as far as entertainment value goes. Virtanen provides speed and hopefully physicality, Grenier may provide a little offense. I wouldn't even be opposed to have.Subban play some games, provided we don'thave to watch the 12 year old Larsen.

Dear God no, he is just starting to get into game shape, next step is getting him to learn how to play hockey against pro's. Watch some Comets games if you get the chance and you will see he is doing okay but still a ways away from "getting" it.

Daniel Sedin didn't earn his ice time?

There is a big difference between a 20 year old rookie being gifted a roster spot and a 36 year old future HOFer still getting the line's share of opportunities.

To be fair JV was what 225? and I'm guessing they probably said "go gain some weight this summer", same thing they tell most guys after their first year. Tree looks like an exception to that rule, maybe JB can get him training with Chara this off-season

Check this article out, now that he's no longer a Laff they're calling a spade a spade "No.5 caliber defenseman"

Thanks Carol!!

Granlund 1st line winger. Wow. Don't get me wrong, super happy it isn't Sutter, and I guess it is best to try something new instead of LE.. I guess Hansen can't play on all lines either.

I am starting to wonder if its the person on the Sedin's line, or the Sedins themselves....

Are the Sedins the 1st line anymore?

The post had nothing to do with JV but more to do with my frustration of the coach continually giving Daniel top line minutes when he hasn't proven he deserves it. I expressed this in an earlier post.

Don't give me the future HOFer crap. If you aren't playing well for 20 games or so, then you should visit the press box or at least be demoted from top line minutes.

Seems to be pretty even deployment of them and the Bo line to me. More like "do we have a 1st line or two seconds?"

He reported at 228 and was out of shape. It showed on the ice. The staff didn't approve. JV admitted he was overweight. If you saw the pic of him in Sept I posted, he looks soft and fat. He spent his summer clubbing around town.

I get griping about Sedin's ice time, and play and I have no problem playing him less minutes if he is struggling. Again that is different that saying he hasn't earned it.

Sorry I should have been more specific. I am not talking about him earning his ice time in general, I am talking about the current slump he is in. I understand it would take bigger balls than what WD is sporting to sit Daniel but at least send some kind of message. I'm sure classy Sedin will understand and get the message. It's worth trying isn't it?
