Such a great post from the last blog, needs to be posted again

"Someone please explain to me exactly what Toews has done to make him 1 of the 100 best players in the history of the NHL? He has 1 Conn Smythe to his name and that's it, he was the only player I can recall making the list that didn't have multiple major individual awards. He's 35th among active players in scoring and his .862pts/gm is 16th among active players. Quite frankly, Malkin has a far superior resume and if you're looking at players individually and not taking into account team success, Girouxx, Tavares, Backstrom and Stamkos all have resumes that are about as good as the Almighty King of Leadership. If I sat here long enough I could probably come up with 100 players that were more deserving than Toews. It's absolutely amazing how the league just swings from the nuts of a slightly above average player like they do with Toews."

Always with the hate.

No one can just enjoy an event for what it is.

Every Top 10 list, Top 50 list or Top 100 list will always have players from someone's personal team that gets left off, figure it out already.

The sheer classlessness of the author here is astounding.

And to blame it on him not being Canadian?! Just trying to breed more hate?!!

Unbelievable...

If you add Toews why not add Bergeron at that point? Malkin has all the Trophies and stats that got the rest on the list.

Nothing written in this article was incorrect, including the part about him not being Canadian hurting his cause. Classlessness is the league trying to deceive it's fanbase by claiming that Toews is a better player than Malkin. If you want classlessness how about excluding 1 of only 4 players to ever win the Hart, Conn Smythe, Art Ross, Ted Lindsey and Calder trophies to include a guy that has only won 1 of those award to protect his lure as a Canadian legend.

Believe it...

And why not add Jarome Iginla for that matter?!! Do I need to list all of his accomplishments?! No. Is it because he doesn't have a cup ring?! If that's the case you can scratch a bunch of really great players off the list.

What I'm saying is pretty much every team has a player technically more deserving to be on this list than some of the people actually on it.

It's not because they're not " Good ol' Canadian boys"...

Fuhr??

4 rings, a Canada cup, a vezina, a Jennings, and a 20 year career in the show

Dude was an absolute acrobat when he was hopped up on blow in his prime. Was phenomenal against the Russians and was Among (if not THE) best in the world for a solid half decade late 80's.

Silly to even consider taking him off that list

I don't have an issue with Towes on the list... but hes one that should barely be making it. Malkin should have been an auto on the list, but as pointed out, there were a lot more than just Malkin missing and other questionable inclusions.

So meh, whatever... lets just get to the NHL playoffs so we can up the bann rate around hockeybuzz for a bit

Here comes the savegeno tribe. Im sick of hearing how Malkin needs more credit. Ill let you in on a secret. Toews doesnt think hes a better goal scorer than Malkin and Malkin doesnt need to be on a list to know hes good at scoring goals. Grow up people this whole thing is for 13 yr olds that dont give a poop anyway.

Yeah malkin is almost as good as crosby and crosby is top 5 On that list. Probably top 3. Malkin probably cracks top 10-15. Alot of people messed up in leaving him off.
