Philly's passing was out of sync. The Rangers got a 1-0 lead and set up a picket fence all night long. McDonald struggles with handling the puck as do some other D. You need more mobility and skill on the blueline, IMO.

This team has been unable to beat the rags and debbies since carter and richard left, three coaches later.... i guess we lost the bobrovsky trade.

Bob was done here. Feeling stuck behind Bryzgalov, Bobrovsky demanded a trade under threat of going of back to Russia to play in the KHL -- this was before NHL and KHL had an agreement to respect each other's contracts . At least that info didn't leak beforehand. In light of the fact they had to make a trade, the Flyers did fine.

My observations:

-Best players last night were Voracek and Provorov with Giroux just behind.

-Team seem to lack any bite in the forecheck and seemed slow to get on pucks or react in the offensive zone

-The team had a solid couple minutes in the first but after that really had few shifts of sustained pressure. They were also kept to the outside all night it seemed.

-Rafll has seemed to disappear lately and Schenn looked to be trying to carry the puck a lot and turn it over a lot.

-Read doesn't seem to have that burst anymore. I know injured so i'll give a few more games but his speed has seemed to have vanished.

-Hate the Couturier - Read - Weise line.

-4th line was "meh". No bother complaining because some guys will never be replaced.

-This team has no bite after Simmonds and sometimes Gudas. I thought Weise would bring a little edge but he has been a big disappointment. I am not saying they need a goon but there is no one in the forward group any defender on the opposing team has to keep their head up for when the flyers chip and chase. During the 10 game streak they seemed to have an attitude. But now they seem passive a lot of games.

-Mason. Not going to fault him, maybe a little on the 2nd, but really could use a momentum save. Lundquivist was able to do that on the PK and the first.

I agree with J35's views on the game and absolutely agree that the Coots-Weise-Read line needs to be broken up immediately. I was at the game and they were easily the worst line, though I place a lot of the fault for that on Weise. Dude looked completely lost out there and should really see a few games from the Cote suite solely for that performance.

I'd add to the evaluation of last night that Ghost had a really bad game. Lots of turnovers and poor position in his own zone. I don't know why, but he seems to have totally lost the confidence he played with last year. Hopefully he works it out soon cause the Ghost from last year would be really helpful in breaking this team out of their current slump.

Someone obviously needs to re-injure Couturier. It is the recipe for 10 game win streaks

I'd have to disagree that the Flyers did fine .

Though I understood the trade at the time, I was on record as not liking it one bit. And that included signing Breeze in the first place. Just another emotional, knee jerk, cap restraining move. And as it turned out, I was (for one of the very few times) right.

I actually liked Bobo and wanted him to be given some patience to fully develop. It was only my opinion at that time but I liked his stye, reminding me a bit of Pelle.

Weise has flat out crapped the bed this season, he needs to come out of the lineup asap!

Mason and Bobrovsky have had very similar numbers (obviously not this year) since the trade. Flyers also drafted Stolarz and Leier with the picks they got.

I don't want to see this team pack it in. I would like to see an improvement in personal. They need a legit 2nd line C , more balance up and down, and some players who can bring an edge. I know it can't be done at once, but come on Hextall don't be afraid to shake things up a little. Show the players that this isn't acceptable. You either perform or get ready to pack your bags.

Is today going to be "Should of kept Bob day?"

Christ the guy is playing unreal right now and he did the year he won a Vezina. He has had poor seasons too, also injuries. He also has the 2nd HIGHEST cap hit in the NHL for goalies and would be the third highest paid player on this team.

The wrong decision wasn't trading him, it was signing Bryz. The team has plenty of issues to deal with in front of the goalie before we worry about who we should of kept

Tough to play the what if game.

If they didn't trade Bobrovsky and never signed Bryzgolov they could have used the amnesty buyout on someone else instead of Bryzgolov.

That leads to this off season.. Does Hextall resign Mason?? I would not give him a long term deal that is for sure, sorry but he just too inconsistent .

I know trades aren't easy and not always an answer but this team needs something. For me they really need to figure out the defense first. If Del Zotto isn't in the future plans maybe look to move him. Edmonton seems to be looking for defensive help t make a playoff run. They will have to do something soon with Streit about ready to come back and carrying 8 defenders is useless. Also if need be, I think Morin is close that he could be a call up option if injures hit. Could also call up Brennan if they lose Gostisbehere as a more offensive type.

Not sure how much money they need to lose to bring Streit back, but if it's 1.9 million or less, it seems pretty simple to me.
Step 1: Waive or trade Nick Schultz
Step 2: waive Dale Weise

Schultz is #8 on the depth chart and with Morin in the wings in LHV, he's expendable. Plus the guy needs to play somewhere. Weise has just been awful, so let him ride the bus in the A for a while and maybe he wakes the (frank) up. And, if someone actually claims him, wonderful, we don't have to be saddled with this guy for 3 more years.
