We're not bent over a barrel for a defenseman anymore. We have no reason to make a trade like that again. Plus Larsson>Hamonic. If anything, I think you guys are more under the gun to get a legit winger to play with Tavares before he gets fed up and leaves town after his contract is up.

Emelin and his cap hit wouldn't be enough to land Yakupov, with that said I don't think Yak is the type of player they should be targeting. .. a Emelin for Hartnell trade would make more sense, to me anyway

I don't think you've paid much attention to the numerous interviews that JT has done this summer then, because he's not interested in leaving.

You'd better hope larsson is better than hamonic, and the bottom half of your defense is garbage. One injury and you're down to a single decent pairing.

This can be said about just about anyones D. If a main guy goes down you're in trouble. That's the way it is. But no you're right it's just the Oilers D because they're so terrible. And players praise the city they're in an organization they represent all the time. Do you think he's gonna do an interview and say (frank) the Isles and drop the mic? If you guys don't get him a legit 1st line winger to play with I'm willing to bet he goes to UFA in 2 seasons. He's too good to play with the garbage he's been given thus far.

Seriously, Chia must be a Trojan horse for the NHL. Having McDavid out shadowing Hall on the same team isn't good for business. Edmonton will have fans no matter what, NJ needs an exciting player to have fans. Think about it.

Only Peter Chiarelli is dumb enough to trade Yakupov for Emelin...so I guess it could happen.

He'll be a more than capable shut down d-man. Believe me when I tell you that. If he can muster some more offense then he's a real stud.
