This is really my first conference finals. The last one, I was out of the country, without any access to hockey. Had no idea at the time what was going on.

Mine too. But just because i cannot remember the last one. I think i drank that part of my brain away. From that era i remember Turek. I remember Bergevin throwing the puck into our own net. Of course Demitra. Turgeon, MacInnis, Pronger. But i can't remember what happened in any specific season. Maybe its just because they all ended in failure anywal

I was thinking how unusually it is to see such major blow out in a game 7 while watching the Blues-Stars game and was surprised again last night as the Sharks shut out the Preds. Seems crazy, but I'm very excited for this conference final.

Should be a great series. Good luck to both and ENJOY!

Yet another reminder of how old I am, I guess. I was virtually in the same place I am now, just fifteen years have passed.......

The Bergevin game was in the President's Trophy season (I was at that game), they went down in the first round. The following season I bought a full season ticket for the first time.

The beat San Jose in the first round in a big revenge match, then swept Dallas (Roman Turek never lost to Dallas seemingly). Then he fell apart against Colorado.

I contend to this day the Blues were the better team and outplayed the Avs throughout that series. Had you simply switched goalies in that series, the Blues win in five.

If you told me that Benn, Sharp and Spezza would only have 3 goals and 8 assists between them, over a 7 game series, I'd call that more than mission accomplished. It seems like Sharp used to just kill us when he played for the hawks.

This is going to be a bruising series.

This is what I said last year in the off season. Before the Sharks hired him I was saying drop Hitch, we are never getting Babcock snatch up DeBoer, the man can polish a turd. He made a rather not very good Devils team get to the finals. Now he is he getting the Sharks to believe in themselves. But alas DeBoer is no priest. He cannot perform an exorcism.

That was back when I was living in Chicago putting myself into self-induced comas every other night.

I got the tapes of the game sent to me. That is how long it has been, VHS tapes were still in legitimate use.

If we make the finals. On a weekend game, away, I will be hosting a huge BBQ camping extravaganza Blues watch party for the regulars. If you are incapable of sleeping outside I have a few beds. But television outside, big bonfire, country style, beer(real beer and some sparkling alcohol water for the girls out there), meat! Fresh eggs for breakfast and vegetables from the garden!

PM me if there is any interest!

In 86 I was 6 and my family had just moved to St Louis. Parents are both from Arizona, so our family had no clue with regards to hockey at the time. A couple of years later a friend of my older brother and I introduced us to hockey and the rest is history.
