I dont agree on that totally. Montreal Has Gal/Drouin/Galager who are all 25 and under. They could also trade Pax, Price and Weber and get some good returns..if they decide to go all in tank
- senstroll

Imagine if they hadn’t ever traded McDonagh and Subban?

Woulda been a pretty nice looking d-core.

At least they have that Russian sounding youngster, and didn’t trade him for a forward with fewer points.

montreal is the same as vancouver but with no good players lol.

vancouver is at risk of becoming the next edmonton. they're going to have multiple great players but benning is a moron and can't be relied upon to fill out the rest of the roster properly. if they get a solid gm they'll be fine.

edmonton is edmonton.

calgary is ok but their d is aging. not sure they'll get better before they get worse.

toronto is #2. tons of upside

winterpeg is #1. better team now with similar upside to toronto

I’d say Winnipeg and Toronto are pretty much even.

They’re behind us in points, but have games in hand, and TO still had most of it’s easier Atlantic games ahead in the schedule, so those haven’t really boosted up our point total.

If we’re including former NHL teams, I suppose the original Winipeg and Vancouver franchises should also be mentioned.
- Feeling Glucky?

I was actually referring to the future Quebec City team. It probably won't be in very good shape because of what a piss poor job has been done with it prior to relocation but it's at least worthy of a mention.

But on the topic of old Canadian teams I guess the old Winnipeg franchise at least has a better group of young players, prospects and draft picks than the new Nordiques will. The old Nordiques look a hell of a lot better than they did last year.

Here is a fun article on Team drafting from the athletic. give it a read..if you dont have acces..dont be so cheap

https://theathletic.com/2...am-performs-at-the-draft/

Note: this is for 2011-2015 only

Here are the Canadian Teams, not going to nitpick but I bet a lot have issues with Edm being that high. Cant argue with the leafs being in the middle. They had some lousy picks with Goat, Biggs etc.. I suspect they rank better from 2016-2020

24. Montreal Canadiens
21. Ottawa Senators
18. Vancouver Canucks
16. Toronto Maple Leafs
13. Calgary Flames
6. Edmonton Oilers
2. Winnipeg Jets

Picking Strome over Marner... pretty irredeemable.

Almost as bad as drafting Zboril, Debrusk, and Senyshinkebab in a row, with Barzal being the next pick.

Where did Boston rank?

Boston was 8th, they hit on some solid NHL players with non top 10 picks. Debrusk, Carlo, Heinen, Pasta.

Thank (frank) they didnt take Barzal, Connor and Chabot with those 3 picks ..my god

Kyle Connor is quietly putting up a good rookie season with 27 goals

It would be so (frank)ing cool to see a Jets/Leafs SCF to answer this question

Look at that my Original ranking has held up and pretty much played out as predicted, Leafs and Jets rose to the top

Jets
Leafs

Calgary
Edmonton
Montreal
Ottawa
Vancouver

Sedins just retired. Would have been better if they'd gotten something for them, but now they're basically forced to rebuild. Ottawa is still going to continue treading water... in an open septic tank.

Benning/ownership are just as bad as Melnyk/Dorion and Bergevin.

Canucks probably sign Bozak and 1 of Neal/JVR/Kane

Like a kid in a candy store, they'll blow that money on whatever they can get their hands on.

They signed Vrbata after missing out on Iginla to the Avs.

They signed Eriksson after Lucic chose the Oilers.

Once they decide to sign a player at a certain position, they'll do whatever it takes to get someone.

yup.

i wonder if the guys you mentioned will get offers from better teams.

kane is bit of a wildcard. not sure what the market will be. but he's young and could still work out.

i think jvr ends up with the leafs.

neal looks like a long-term mistake waiting to happen for 6x6.

bozak will likely get 4 years. no thanks.

i really think the biggest mistake will be someone paying perron for his near point/game season. 6.25x7 will be ugly.

2nd prize will go to whoever gives jack johnson +4M. this one seems to have benning written all over it.

Patrick Marleau scored a pair of goals and Auston Matthews' first of the playoffs turned out to be the game-winner, as the Maple Leafs responded on home ice to get back in the series. Frederik Andersen finished with 40 saves which included an amazing paddle stop late. BOS leads series 2-1.

It's almost as pathetic as posting the exact same thing in 6 different threads.

Almost? lol

When's the last time he did anything that didn't actively demonstrate how pathetic he is? All he's doing is proving that he's watching every leaf game in a cold sweat, rocking back and forth, with his diaper full of poop, searching for gifs to post in the morning if they lose.

Imagine that being your life. lol
