I was kind of hoping that they would mix the lines up a bit:

Danny - Vey - Etem
Burrows - McCann - Hansen

Vey can play a much better passing/cycle game than McCann. Etem and Vey need to stay together as they have a chemistry.

McCann is more North/South which would work well with Burrow & Hansen. Plus McCann has a more aggressive defensive game than Vey so will strengthen the D side of the 3rd line checkers.

I hope Miller isn't like Luongo with his day games.

Tortarella taken to hospital with broken ribs after "collision" in practice. I am not laughing but I don't feel to sorry either.

It was an outdoor practice, too - an event for the fans.

Apparently Rene Bourque hit a rut in the ice, which caused him to collide with the unsuspecting Torts.

Bet that'll never happen again under his watch.

If it ain't broke don't fix it = fighting for playoff spot

Be the best you can be = fighting for a Stanley Cup

Which one is your goal?

When lounge Played early he never played at his best and if I remember correctly he had cramping issues from missing his morning stretches. I think he even left injured once.

I don't think it was accident. He probably got nailed by a player on purpose.

By if it ain't broke don't fix it I mean why mess with a good thing. If lines are having chemistry continue to build on that instead of messing with the lines.

Benning has been winning all his trades. Baertschi looks good. Etem looks good. Vey is getting better. Prust......meh....Bonino sucks with his new team, Richardson sucks with his new team, Matthias sucks with his new team, Eddie Lack sucks with his new team, Bieksa sucks with his new team, Clendening and Kassian got traded again. Benning is GODLIKE!

No doubt Carol.

In previous blogs I have brought up outdoor ice conditions and how difficult they are to maintain especially for the NHL level. Bad lighting and poor ice conditions/weather can contribute to so many things. And now we have a young girl in Denna Laing that may not walk again because of these outdoor classics. Yes the players (including Laing) all sign waivers but is that really the point? I get the intangilbles. I run an Arena for living and have had experience with outdoor refrigerated surfaces...very tough to keep in safe condition for the players. It might be only a matter of time before an NHL player goes down with serious injury ...or not. And yes indoor surfaces have risk too an there is always the awkward murphys law factor...but with outdoor surfaces the risk is much higher to the players. It would be nice to see Denna Laing walk again of course and ultimately the players know the risks, but I think it's only a matter of 'when' one of the NHL players career will be over due to the poor condition(s) of these outdoor games.

Torts was actually AT practice? Are we sure tsn? No typo?

I am enjoying the streak but I don't want the club to lose focus. It is not Vrbata ar Hamhuis's play that has got us to where we are. It is the goalies the Sedins Hansen and the kids. We still need to try to get assets for those two expiring contracts. Remember Vrbata sucked in the playoffs last year when the game amped up.

As bad as our D has been made out , we have been in most games competing to the end. Hutton and Sbisa are finding some chemistry and Hutton has been making progress. Bart and Biega have been ok.

Don't get sucked into this fantasy that we are going deep. Just keep on improving and keep bringing in high talent youngsters.

Take that cap space of Vrbata Burrows and Hamhuis and get a high end player
