Hope Ghost is just a little banged up, nothing more serious

Thought Mason was excellent, and MDZ was an absolute monster

Liked the lines, for the most part. Think it's only a matter of time before Giroux's line starts tearing people apart

And lastly: Brayden Schenn and Sean Couturier. Sometimes, its not always about the scoresheet. But sometimes, for some players, it matters. And for those two players, at this junction of where the Flyers are and where they are in their careers, points do matter. And it's nice to see that putting them together yields results again, and if Schenn is getting points and looking engaged, which he tends to do with Couturier, then by all means, earn an extension, make me eat my words, and most importantly help the Flyers win

Yep. Nice 2 points.
Really hope ghost is ok.
Schenn is starting to play more consistently and extension worthy.

Do you see Fazleev as a player who would be in a "shutdown" line role?

Mase was solid although he gave up 3. Really like that cooter and schenn are starting to score. Don't look now but that's back to back games with 4 goals and the top line isn't doing a whole lot yet.

Mason played well but get the (frank) out of the way after stopping the puck behind the net so the defender can move it.

Also where was Vandevelde going that he left his guy wide open to fire that slapper on the first goal.

Yes. I still hate vandevelde.

Quietly, Hextall has collected 10 picks in the 2016 draft with 5 in the first three rounds. Should a move for Streit be made at the TDL, likely adding another.

There were so many great plays mid ice where Medvedev made a great read and cut off the long pass for Minny's counter rush and it just gave us so many chances going back. Really hope he continues to stay off the healthy scratch list.

I'm still not sure why he's found his way on it. Especially when Schultz dresses every night.

Medvedev is an enigma. He's capable of playing really outstanding games like he did last night. He's also capable of turning in duds. Seems like every once in a while he need a kick to get going again. One thing is for sure, is that when he is on his game, the Flyers are a much better team.

Are you f'ing kidding me? Lecavalier an assist last night? Yolk on Hextall's brow.

Bill, it sounds like Kase is the forward version of Jesper Petterson: has all of the hunger in the world, but not quite enough talent/size to be an NHL player. Which is just fine for a player taken where they were, they're long-term projects with low-risks.

I'm hoping Ghost's injury isn't severe. Like Bill said, since he was able to come back, it hopefully isn't something long-term.

Also, I'm done with Schultz. When he gets the puck and is under any sort of pressure, his one and only move is to blindly throw it up the near boards and hope for the best. I'd much rather have AMac in there, as he at least puts his head up when he gets the puck.

He can score 60 goals this season and it's still a great trade.

sounds like kase has the talent not the size

they need to get amac up here to see if he is salvageable. unless he has played so bad down there that's the route I would go.

Hopefully Schultz can get a 4th rounder at deadline. He could be a 6/7 depth guy on a playoff team. He only has a 2M plus salary so he is what he is. I wouldn't mind giving AMac a shot to earn some of that mammoth overpayment$$$$$

Outside of the miscue with Mason, did Schultz have as bad a game as the possession stats say? I only caught the last half of the third and OT, but i checked up on the stats afterwards and saw he was dead last in possession.

Anyway, it was a great game from MDZ, I'm glad to see him pot two goals he's been solid all year. And the little game I watched, Medvedev looked downright dominant. I hope Ghost is OK. I thought for a second he was benched and then I found out he was injured and nearly fainted.

Of course it is. I'm amazed he was able to find someone to take him. Luckily Lecavalier agreed to retire at the end of the season, otherwise the Flyers would be stuck with him.

Laughton and Umberger had their best games of the season. Maybe the arrival of Weal has them worried about keeping their positions in the lineup.

I thought the exact same thing, at least with Umberger. Dude was skating hard and was really working the boards last night. I'm sure that Weal will bump someone at some point.

The only teams that can fit his full contract under the cap and in playoff position are FLA, NYI, NSH, and NJD since they cannot retain any salary. OTT is close too.

I believe what Bill has said, that the Flyers value Streits leadership and he probably isnt going anywhere this season. The fact that they can no longer retain any of his salary I think makes that more likely

He has talent, but like Bill said, it's not Briere/Gaudreau talent (at this point). If you have superstar talent, you can make up for lack of size. If you have middle-6 talent, you're already in a bad spot with a lack of size.

It was amazing I think he did it 2-3 times back to back. Both time it created a great scoring chance for Couts. Really kept Minny's D on their heels

I thought (aside from the Mason blunder) Schultz had a pretty decent game. He seemed to have a ton of energy and I noticed him being much more active. Looked sorta like last year.

The 2nd line was cycling like bosses. I really like the look of it. Coots has made great strides in using his body to shield defenders. Looks like Zeus gave him some lessons over the summer or something.

Read and raffl had good games
