#Blackhawks lines:
Shaw-Toews-Hossa
Panarin-Anisimov-Kane
Desjardins-Danault-Teravainen

Yes, in that order.

Seems like Runblad will end up in Rockford along with Bickell and Scuderi-- opening more cap space and roster room for a significant addition

Any news on how, if any, the Kruger injury impacts his "make up" contract extension?

Thanks for the info JJ. If Stan can pull off a top 6 LW, I think other teams are in trouble come the playoffs...

Not sure if there is a better place to ask this question, but kinda new, so please direct me if so...but are there any season ticket holders here with 4 300 level tickets they'd be willing to sell for one of these 3 games: Friday Jan 8th vs Sabres, Sunday Feb 28 vs Capitals, Sunday April 3rd vs Bruins. Trying to take my kids to a game and those 3 weekends are the only ones that fit our schedule. Thanks in advance!

I didn't bother to comment in the previous blog because the new one came up - but regarding the "rumor" the Hawks are interested in Phaneuf - poppycock I say. He has a cap hit of $7M for the next 4-5 years. Even if Toronto retained 50% and took on Bickell's $4M for this season and next - the Hawks would still have 3-4 years of $3.5M to fit under the cap. Now, Phaneuf at $3.5M would be a good deal - but even if the Hawks could figure out a way to make it work - Why the hell would Toronto agree to pay Phaneuf $3.5M to not play for them for that many years?

Poppycock!

Was that confirmed on McKenzies real twitter account?? I know there about 5 fake Bob McKenzie twitters. Leafs know that his best years are the next 2-3 and they will gladly take the Hawks' 1st +prospects as they are looking forward, not in the past or present. I think with Salary retained and Bickell going to Toronto its possible, but not probable.

Points wise probably not bad but underlying stats haven't been good.

Plus the product on the ice has been pretty awful to watch. With the exception of the Stars game, there have been quite a few snoozers.

Doesn't jive with the way they have said they wanted to win (entertainment wise) the past 8 years.

JJ would Dano and Pokka net the hawks a Boeddeker type player?

Don't know what is rumored but Boedker would be a rental...The math works and the cost shouldn't be sky high....And he could play up and down the lineup.

There should be. Team is nowhere good enough 5 on 5.

>Think the team needs to review some video together
>Yes, another substandard effort by many, but way too many shot opportunities are consistently not taken -- in favor of another pass -- to a player who is often covered
>One area of the game that the Hawks should also work on is pick-setting: with so many teams sagging 4 players in the Dzone, setting picks is one of the few ways to free up space for a teammate
>Also, "double-teaming" a Dman near the goal is another way to free up a player for a rebound -- one player seals the Dman away from the other -- freeing him to get a rebound
>Yes, the Hawks have lost key players, but teams are also adjusting to how the Hawks want to play -- the best coaches (and Q is one of them) skirt the edge of the rules as much as possible -- and pick-setting is an area the Hawks need to exploit

That's not what JJ has been reporting from his source.

It has been the that Boedecker (unknown before an hour ago), would be acquired for the long term.

Once again when Q doesn't like the outcome he goes back to those he can trust...Which is why Shaw goes back with Toews/Hossa.

Anyone who still thinks Shaw is just another grinder who can be easily replaced should buy a clue.

Agree, but SC champs to be, don't play that game against Carolina last night.

To me, that was the sign I needed to understand they aren't good enough, don't care about turning it on at playoff time.

As constructed, they aren't good enough to win.

Could be for long term, but the point is he is on an expiring contract so they don't have to pay through the roof. There is no cost certainty right now.

Most of us here know Shaw's value, and very few of us would be very happy if Shaw were to leave.

It would be a bad day (week, month, year, decade) for Stan if Shaw were to be gone.

(Unless of course the got Stamkos or Tom Wilson for him)

John thx as always for keeping us the loop...

Boedker's stats 12g 16a and is a -9 (cap hit 3.75m) last year of deal

Huberdeau's stats 4g 19a and is a +3 (cap hit 3.2m) through next season

still need a #4 dman as well...we'll see what happens...

Yes but what is he looking for in a new contract? To me that's huge and Stan better ask.
