Good win, and good to see Mason play a strong game. Simmonds hair was certainly on fire, that whole line was great. Medvedev was very good again, too

I am at the PPL Center tonight, covering the Phantoms-Providence game to wrap up the holiday weekend. I'll add a Phantoms game writeup to the Flyers-Rangers wrapup, but it may not be posted until tomorrow morning.

They can actually be a decent team when they try. Medvedev.......why wasn't he playing over Manning again?

They certainly can be. I don't know why Medvedev wasn't playing, but there has to be some reason why. Now they have to follow up on it. They cannot afford to have another significant stretch of poor games.

I'd be particularly interested in your impressions of Morin and Straka, and how close you think they are.

If they could bottle today's game, there'd be no critics the first period they got outplayed for a stretch, but more or less dominated the final 40 minutes.

Or Gudas, or Schultz or others?

No reason he should have sat as long as he did, and the team repeatedly said he was healthy. The last two games he's been one of their two best D, there's no reason to have him revisit the press box outside of him getting hurt.

A victory over the Rangers is always worth celebrating. Especially one at MSG.

Just seeing how good he is in transition & getting the play going...man, he's skilled as Hell.

Medvedev did have a couple games where he did struggle, but the length of time he was out, I really hope it was an injury they were hiding.

He's come miles from where he was when they drafted him. Still a bit of a reach, but he's worked hard and really done a fantastic job to make himself a solid player.

Agreed. Might not have the highest ceiling, but he should be a good 4th liner, with good speed, good two way play and a big physical element

Anthony Duclair is one. He's a guy that fell over character concerns. Sven Adrighetto, who is a good prospect for the Habs. Oliver Bjorkstrand, who made his pro debut this season and had 63 goals in 59 games in the WHL last year.
