Its funny because Elliotte Friedman was just on the fan 960 and said that the Oil and Islanders have been talk for a long time on this. He said that if there was a deal to be had it would have been done by now and that he does not see him getting traded to Edmonton. He thinks that Wild and Islanders could be working on something bigger than just a 2 player swap.

Yeah I agree, he would be a great add, but if there's no deal, theres no deal.who knows tho, for all we know ( and we don't know (frank) all) it could have been talk surrounding Eberle, and that's why no deal was done until he returns to pre-injury form.

I seriously doubt Faulk or Hanifin are going anywhere (and honestly they have more value than either Hamonic and Eberle) and Fleury is still a prospect.

They have a lot of good young D, but none really fit the bill. Murphy is not what the Isles need, Faulk and Hanifin are untouchable (I would assume) and Fleury is still a prospect.

As someone (a Devils fan) suggested elsewhere, Eberle -Devils, Hamonic-Oilers, Larsson-Isles would make a lot of sense for all 3 teams along these lines.
