Probably not. But the team needed a change and changing the HC is the easiest thing that can be done. Personally, the GM hasn't done a good job either really and that team has a lot of ugly contracts going forward that will make competing very challenging.

So in resume , the cbj have hired a yelling clown that people enjoy watching.

That being said , I watched the press conference ...........and yeah his answers just seemed like a guy trying to say the right things to the media but deep down he's going to coach this team his way . Also Jarmo didn't look adamant towards the hiring , so I don't know if this is because of his teams record or this is a Davidson hiring.

Also Torts seems to have forgotten Foligno is wearing the C , not Dubinsky . I get he has a track record with him , but that shouldn't be your guy acting as a ''conduit'' (as he qualified him) between the coaching staff and players.

Dubinsky and Torts departed on very bad terms. It seems Torts is saying everything positive he can about Dubi to try and help that situation.

Yes for about 2 years, then it will become a train wreck.

It's great to have Torts back in the league. If nothing else he is entertaining.
But that's not to say this can't work out really well for the Blue Jackets. They need a team identity and the discipline might do them good. Obviously with Tortorella you never know what's going to happen but I can understand why they went in this direction... even if it seems a bit nuts at first glance. Just think of it as a high risk, high reward type of choice.

There should be more coaches hired based on entertainment value!

Roenick will be coaching Arizona midway through the season and plop Milbury in Los Angeles.

Milbury as coach and GM of Philly would be perfect.
