That Boone Jenner goal was a result of Pouliot lacking defensive fundamentals. He needs to tie up Jenner's stick there every single time. Even if he got his stick on the puck...he was only deflecting it right on net.

I think more than anything else, Johnston is just trying to fire up Pouliot. Maybe Pouliot came to camp with a "I'm a lock to make it" attitude due to his draft position and the lack of defensive depth on Pitt's blueline?

The question on pouliot it would seem is does he have anything more to learn in the Ahl? He may never be a great defensive d man... The question is can he reach the point where he s not a liability... For several years we ve been reading about how hard he's been working on the defensive side of his game.... That being said d men often take longer to mature then forwards ... Should be interesting ... Moving scuds??? And/or there evaluation of Erixon could be factors as well

DP did nothing last yr that says he's ready for a top line role. So far this yr that trend is continuing. Puck moving Dmen are great and all, but the quality I like in a Dman is actual defensive skills. Not a player thats not a good forward but can still skate very well and has good hands so he plays D even though he lacks basic defensive fundamentals. (Mike Green) That goal was a classic goal allowed by the Pens the past 4 yrs. Pass right through a Dman and a player untouched behind him.

Just think Pens could have TT or Forsberg and still have Maata...Thanks Shero for another Dman that fails to live up to fans expectations.

Pouliot will go down because he has options. If they lose Clendening or Dumoulin to waivers that would be total mismanagement.

Probably not happening regardless of what we think of scuds.... To me erixion is the bigger issue... And the guy that would probably be waved if they keep pouliot up

To me the obvious choice is shaking Gonch's hand and sending into retirement. If I have to keep one geezer it's Scuds. Offer Gonch a coaching job if you want to keep him around.

This team can't possibly lose Clendening or Dumo because of Gonch or Scuds. Can they?

We re in Pittsburgh 2-3 times a year for pens games ... Though not till January this season I believe ..The drive from New York sucks
