Schenn isn't even playing center. You should have used Couturier. Not sure it changes the rankings tho.

Backstrom and Giroux are very good on the PP. Though in Backstrom's case, having Ovechkin makes a huge difference.

E.Staal didn't play center for 90% of last season, and won't play center this one.

Only 1 small problem with your logic.

Strome played well over 90% of the season as a RW. He was 5th for faceoffs for NYI last season with 319 & he most likely plays RW again this season unless injuries dictate otherwise again.

I am more than willing to take the Pepsi challenge with Stepan and Brassard vs any of these duos

I think it is supposed to be the optimal situation for comparison's sake. E. Staal likely won't be a center either as was mentioned by Bingo.

In the last two years in the playoffs, Brassard has 7 playoff goals vs the Penguins.

Malkin and Crosby have combined for 6 playoff goals vs the Rangers.

Yeah, but those kinds of facts weren't used on the charts he hand-picked to make his projections.

That said, if you could trade Brassard for one of Crosby or Malkin, would you? If you say no, you're a liar.

I think the 2C for the flyers is Couts but I don't think it changes the rankings much. He needs to start hitting his offensive potential for that duo to climb the list.

I actually enjoy talking about real hockey every time somebody puts up one of these possession blogs with fancy charts. It's fun.

I plan to. I'll sit back and watch as you rant to yourself in front of others about how you think every player on your team is better than any player on any other team. If I weren't at work I'd even make some popcorn.

I just think since the Penguins have had no answer for Derrick Brassard two playoff seasons in a row, Ryan Wilson would have had a little more respect for him in this blog that's all.

Man, these "random" polls on your blogs are hilarious. Each one is so blatantly hand-picked to favour your Pens

Hey, I've got an idea for your next one:

Let's rank the top French-Canadian centremen with the initials M.L. that were drafted by US teams in the mid-80s....

Sure it does. Since Giroux outscored both Malkin and Crosby in 2012, it means that the Penguins would have been wise to trade Crosby for Giroux.

Because logic and unbias.

well, they have been ranked 4th on the list because of Ryan Strome and Brandon Dubinsky. There are charts and everything

Actually, they've been ranked 4th of the list because of Crosby, Malkin, Tavares, and Johanssen as well as those 2. But thanks for playing.
