Any concern that he has never come close to playing 82 games?

Definitely a concern, but the two concussions he had were the result of getting hit in the face by the puck. That is a pretty random event.

If he can avoid getting hit in the face by pucks, he will probably be fine lol

I was telling someone a couple days ago that Eaves would have been a better depth player than Skille since they both miss a lot of time and Eaves actually is productive when he does play.

I guess if he's signed cheap enough his injury history won't matter too much

Nice player indeed but that "Games Played" list since 09-10 scares the sh*t out of me. That's what we call a pattern.

Pass solely based on that.

The more I look at the UFA list, the more intrigued I become with Soderberg. Big body. Durable. We need more of that. Team could do itself well by signing him and moving Sutter for a 3rd line winger. 2 simple moves that could reshape things a tad.

People said the same thing about Justin Williams when the Kings traded to get him.

Always hurt, never plays a full 82, that's a pattern...

Turned out to be one of their more key players in the playoffs and regular season, has remained healthy since becoming a King.

I see injuries in some years, but seeing as he was a bottom 6, was he in the booth for seasons he was well below 82 without AHL totals to explain?

However, for bottom 6 help that is cheap, I don't see the harm in looking at this guy.

Penguins have a uncanny ability to turn anyone into Mr. Glass. By far the most injured team in the league since winning their cup in 2009.

Seems worthy of the risk if you can get him on another 650k contract. 2 concussions as results of shots to the face and a broken foot from another blocked shot says to me he's willing to put his body on the line for the team. Maybe tell him to pick those spots better, save the shot blocking for the more important moments.

Christ, just what we need ... another injury waiting to happen. He would fit right in. This is an easy PASS.

What depth forwards should Rutherford be targeting?

He said something similar on twitter I assume?

Oh well, I still think if he is acquired for a lowish price, then the risk is worth the potential reward.

Reminds me of the sign that said Eaves Dropping from the playoffs a few years ago.
I think it was Armstrong that laid him out right?

I would think the first quality would be someone durable enough to play more than 77 games in his last three NHL seasons.

Resign Downie first. Basically Eaves but has produced offense as recently as last season playing mostly with Brandon Sutter, and he is also very entertaining. No Brainer.

That's a fair criticism, but you're still not providing any names.
