He's a defenseman.

Bill,

I know a lot of people talk about the big four in our prospects(Morin, Sanheim, Gostisbehre, Hagg) but I feel Friedman could be a darkhorse to really make an impact. Would Torey Krug be a comparison for Friedman?

Maybe but it's awfully hard to expect him to walk away from a Harvard education to go play CHL hockey with zero guarantee of a pro contract on the other side.

Too early to tell, but I agree he's got dark horse NHL prospect potential. Had a really good freshman season this year.

He'll make more with that Harvard education over the course of his lifetime than he would as a career journeyman hockey player. That kid would be a dope to pass that up.

Who has the WHL rights for Merrick Madsen?

Seems like a whole lotta "meh".

Nick Luukko sounds suspiciously like a less pugnacious Oliver Lauridsen.

Hi Bill

Great job as always, very much appreciated!! I'm curious as how you would currently rank the Flyers top 10 prospects. My own rankings are as follows:

1. Travis Sanheim D
2. Sam Morin D
3. Scott Laughton C
4. Shayne Ghostisbehere D
5. Nicholas Aube-Kubel RW
6. Nick Cousins C
7. Robert Hagg D
8. Oskar Lindblom LW
9. Taylor Leier LW
10. Anthony Stolarz G

Lord knows, I'm probably forgetting someone though.

Friedman has some potential, but the rest, yeah, meh pretty much sums it up.

Friedman is emerging as a decent prospect. Willcox may surprise. Parks, too.

We're talking system depth here, not stars.

Fair enough. They could certainly use some depth, for sure.

Pretty good list. Might slot Cousins up one spot since he's already played some NHL games and has emerged as an AHL impact player. But that would be my top 10 also. Both Friedman and Fazleev had potential to challenge for that list next year.

Thanks!

Have to think whomever they select at #7 this year will jump right onto this list as well.

Would you say Wilcox could probably be one of those set them and forget them types. Nothing flashy or eye popping numbers but plays a strong two-way game and provides a good outlet pass. Kind of like a partner to say a Gostisbehre since he will most likely be the guy to join the rush.

Hopefully, yes. Willcox is pretty steady and smooth. It would have been nice to see a more dramatic junior season but the high ankle sprain was a factor and he's never going to be a flashy type of D-man anyway.

It seems like the Flyers are building from the defense out. I like the mix too of the different skill sets. I have also come around to liking Provorov if he is there at 7. I know the Flyers need impact wingers. But I think he would be too hard to pass on unless someone surprisingly dropped in the draft.

Lack of Goulbourne is disturbing
