Marchand's "penalty" - as you call it - is the embodiment of pure bullsh!t. Why is it the Bruins are so interested in the Wings b@lls?

I still cant believe the shot on the third goal went in last night. Detroit dominated much of that game. (Boston seemed to play much better after Kronwall knocked Pastrnak down).

On a positive note, Connolly looked pretty good in his first game back. Hopefully he starts to see some more minutes as we get closer to the end of the season. Spoons and Pasta were flying tonight too. Loving what their speed brings to this club.

Sad note(s). Chara was absolutely terrible. Twice he threw the puck out from behind the net in the defensive zone and gave it to the other team. I understand that this is a set breakout play, but if you aren't 100% certain you are going to get the puck to the center when they cross in front, dont (frank)ing pass the puck there. Rask had to make a lot of unnecessary saves because of bonehead plays.

Does anyone else hold their breath every time bart touches the puck. Good lord. There was a 45 second period of time in the second period where we were hemmed in our own zone and only got 1 D man to change. Trotman and bart were together on the ice, almost threw my beer can at the TV. Also, detroit's second goal never happens if Bart covers his man in front of the net. For the love of all that is holy, just park Bart in the pressbox.

Connolly is a good guy. Talented, hard working and a little gritty. I wish him nothing but the best of luck.

Was watching Chara closely last night. He seems off balance and is putting more pressure on his right knee and trying to stay off the left. He almost fell down a few times when pivoting left, and I think some teams are seeing this and exposing his left side. I'm convinced he isnt 100%. But that still isnt an excuse for bad passing.

I know what your talking about with the favoring a leg. I just dont get why he didnt have the surgery in November. He clearly needs it. 3 month recovery and he'd be coming back now or would already be back. And the way he's playing this year, he's not the difference in the Bruins making playoffs or now.

Not sure why he didnt opt for surgery either. Pride and spirit to compete i guess? You can bet off season surgery is coming though.

We need Dougie back

Unfortunately Big Z was characteristic of this last year in the playoffs against Montreal. Multiple times he threw the puck up the middle (quite often on the PK) and was picked off for scoring chances. I get the argument about the injury, however he was slowing last year and those extra seconds when he was a bit quicker are gone and he panics to get the puck out now because forwards are on him so quickly now.
Our best defenceman is out with broken ribs and Rask is burned out... not a good outlook even if we squeak into the playoffs.
Good first game in black n' gold for Connolly...although I think Ty's "think Nathan Horton" comparison is a bit far fetched. Here's hoping, but Horton scored 28 goals in his first full season... Connolly isn't even close to that level. Good tools, but no consistency. Here's hoping he puts it all together in Beantown.
