I read today that the Bruins are looking to trade Seidenber and Eriksson for a center, and yesterday you guys posted about Flames looking to trade, possibly looking for a right wing.

Today, Paul Byron didn't skate ("Game time decision") though no apparent injuries from the Bruins vs Flames game on Monday. Possibly a Byron(C) for Eriksson(RW) trade incoming?

Byron is not what the Bruins need right now.

Boston is at a crossroads. They still have an elite core, but they are aging. Need to decide whether to start tinkering with this core or keep pushing forward. Trading for Byron like said previously really does nothing for you.

The Buffalo Sabres (should) trade Chris Stewart to Boston, for Malcom Subban.

The bruins are looking for a top 6 winger, byron does not meet that requirement.

I have heard Minnesota is interested in Erikkson- the Bs would want Folin- I would think a package involving Scandella and Coyle (with maybe something else going to the Wild- Jimmy Hayes?) would be a possibility too. I haven't heard anything regarding Nashville but a solid bottom six guy with upside like Jarnkrok and a first might be fair for Eriksson.

Does anyone think Chara could be moved? Maybe the Panthers want to add playoff experience to the roster- Campbell comes off their books this year so they could absorb Zs cap hit/ salary. Maybe for a first and a young D like Petrovic. Then Boston would have to get a veteran d guy this summer (Yandle?)

Finally I disagree that Boston is targeting centers in trade. They have Bergie, Krejci, and Spooner- I guess they could use a 4C but not in trade for Eriksson.

Overall the roster next year in Boston should look pretty different- Connolly and Hayes did not really work out. Kempainnen is young and probably will improve same with Ferraro, but overall forward depth especially bottom six depth is much lower than Boston is accustomed to and needs to be addressed. That and another top 4 d man.
