Wow, didn't realize how good Price's numbers are. That GAA is really surprising.

Hi Bill,

I was just curious if you knew of any college FA that the Flyers might show interest in this year. I know they have tried to get Sustjr and DeKeyser and they hit with Read.

Flyers usually seem to hang with Montreal regardless of the record. Hope the D and PK recapture what they accomplished in DC.

Crossing fingers for Emery tonight.

The Flyers have taken 11 of a possible 12 points (5-0-1) in their last six games.
- bmeltzer

It's amazing that despite all the points lately, they still haven't been able to get any closer in the standings. The teams they're chasing for the wildcard have all gone 6-3-1 in their last 10 as well.

What do " healthy scratched Dman" fetch on trade market. I am guessing anywhere between a 4th-6th pick.
So,I would like to see Hextall make a couple deals before are Dcore returns to full health. When and if Kimmo returns ... Along with Coburn we will have 10 Dman that could play out this non playoff season ..including Manning
I would like to see at least 3 moved for picks

The Habs blogger thinks Tokarski might get the start tonight in place of Price.

I read the interview with Raffl.
Seems he came back to practice a bit early on a day they had a bag skate (his description). He looked up and he was 30 meters behind everyone. That practice sent him further back in his recovery process.

In regards to Mason, "locking" in the knee is a typical description used for a torn meniscus. The torn cartilage can get stuck in the joint space and cause the knee to lock. This can be fixed with arthroscopy. He could be back in
this season if that's the issue. If it's his ACL forget about this year.
Guess we will see after the surgery.

That's what makes sucking suckier. Easy to dig a hole, hard climb out.

The wins put them ahead of the dreck teams but do nothing to shorten the gap in points to the good teams.

They are securing the 10th-14th spot in the draft.

Scratching a player is not going to drastically reduce a players trade value.

it just seems like the puck luck is trending in the opposite direction over the last couple weeks. the tml game and one other game the flyers were outshot (and outchanced) badly yet managed to win.....it reminds me of some stretches of play when they were contenders and they would hit this run of games where you knew they wouldn't win no matter what....the other team could play w/ out the goal tender and it just would not happen! then things would go back to 'normal'......what is really frustrating is that they look like a competitive team at times this year and then just can't seem to make one pass the rest of the time....

Seravalli tweeted that yesterday. I forget what date he used, but they were something like 9-5-1 and actually had LOST ground on the Rangers, Caps and Bruins.

That's the trouble, if it was in their hands, it'd be a lot more feasible. But they also need a few other teams to play poorly and avoid 3 point games.

As a layman who has had knee issues, I'm guessing the repeated MRIs would likely have revealed an ACL or MCL issue. I'm hoping whatever the case, it's a shorter term injury for Mason.

Actually meniscus or other loose bodies seems reasonable, as I read this morning he's had three knee surgeries since 2008.

How about the poor play that got the player scratched. Does that reduce the players trade value?
