Healthy team and either jagr or tlusty.

Lines would be
Perron sid horn
Bennett geno jagr/tlusty
Kuni sutter comeau
Spaling goc downie
Arc

That's pretty Damn good imo. If anything swap kuni amd bennett and downie Comeau if MJ wants to try to have that line that excelled in beginning of the season (bennett sutter downie)

I haven't been on here all weekend, and wanted to voice some opinions:

- This team is going through a rough patch right now, and i think if handled correctly, can really be a learning experience and help this team in the long run. Personally would like to see the kids on the blue line playing more games, because it will benefit the team in the near and far future.

- The Perron deal keeps looking like more and more of a steal. He has already shown great chemistry with Sid, and shows the ability to be effective away from him as well. Plus, he has awakened Sid. The more they play together, the better it seems. Kuddos to GMJR for getting the trade done early.

- If this team can go into the playoffs healthy, they will be a tough out. Adding Hornqvist and Comeau to the top 9 fixes the problems we've been having lately. My line combos when healthy:

Perron-Crosby-Hornqvist
Kunitz-Malkin-Bennett
Comeau-Sutter-Downie
Adams-Goc-Spaling
Sill-Arcobello

I agree on all of this. We are going through a slump but we will get through it. Once healthy, we are fine on lines. Still would like to see Adams out for Farnham but probably won't happen because Adams is the greatest PK'er in NHL history. We don't need a trade for Jagr, Tlusty or anything that will cost us a lot. Whatever we could get out of Bortuzzo will probably be the best we can get.

Adding another winger for depth would be nice, but who do we trade? I think once Comeau and Horn return we should be set. Plus there is a chance we could get Duper back for playoffs.

I agree with almost everything here. One thing though is that we simply can't count on being fully healthy for the playoffs, specifically a loss of Bennett, Perron, or Hornqvist will cripple our chances. That's the problem with not having anyone in the farm system able to step up into a bottom 6 role.

I've said for a few weeks now that the Pens should look for an NHL bottom 6 veteran. Someone with size and nastiness preferably. Someone like a Zubrus, Reaves, Kassian...or even take the size out of the equation if they're capable of chipping in offensively like a Talbot or Cogliano.

Fully healthy and Dupuis coming back, we would definitely be set but that is awfully optimistic.

Bolded would be okay pick ups, imo. I know he certainly wouldn't be cheap, but Vermette is making a lot of sense now.

If he could I would bet he would come back during playoffs. Especially if someone goes down. The docs would hold him out if he wasn't 100% though.

As a Canes fan, what do you think Tlusty would cost? I would put his value around a 2nd + 4th round pick, but I don't watch him play

I was thinking about Duper yesterday.... We all talk about players that have been Penguin killers over the years. Duper is a Ranger killer. Always played great against them.

One of those Ranger fans talking about the Pens have no depth... When you consider the players that are out.....yes, it certainly takes a huge bite out of the depth. Missing Horny, Duper, Comeau and Maatta....that's going to sting. Take 4 players of that caliber off of any team and it will be noticeable. It's a shame that two of them are gone for the year.

Can anybody understand why Sill isn't waived at this point? I mean, you can at least see Adams make an occasional play. Same with a guy like Rust. But Sill....man, he's nowhere near an NHL player.

Edit... I'd love to see Farnham back up until other options come back. Now that the PP is warming up, if he can draw some more penalties that could really help. Would love to see his antics against the Flyers tomorrow.

I would have agreed earlier in the year, but I would say his value has dropped significantly of late.

He's been bad for about a month +

Since the game against Pittsburgh he has 4 points in his last 16 games.

Why not just add Stamkos and Shea Weber while you're at it? Heck, you can throw in a Jamie Benn as well.

I think that's probably fair.

It sounds like the Canes are trying to re-sign him right now, knowing that he CAN be better than what he is at the moment, but will definitely move him if it doesn't get done soon.

?? Bc we don't need stamkos or weber....

Jagr and tlusty are realistic options... just bc your team sucks doesn't mean you get to bring your negativity in here...

Part of having depth is having solid players ready to step in when there are injuries.

I mentioned last week when the Martin/Williams rumor was swirling I would rather take 2 proven, playoff tested depth guys (Clifford/Nolan/Lewis) over Williams. Obviously the Pearson/Toffoli injuries have negated any deal there but I still believe there is/are trades out there.

A team in contention (and so many still are) is not going to sell off pieces, obviously, so what about starting with ARI and BUF?

Harrington/4th rounder to ARI for Moss/Chipchura?
Same to BUF for Flynn/Mitchell?

Take St. Louis, Kreider, Zuccarello, and McDonagh out of the Rangers lineup, and how well are they doing right now??

Partly, sure, but that's a big part of what Jim Rutherford was tasked with, and he's done a reasonably good job for only having half a year to do it.

Their defensive depth is good, but they still need another mid-range center or winger to balance the line-up.

They'll make another deal soon enough, but I think JR wants to see what the team looks like healthy before he makes the same sort of mistake Shero did and overpays for a luxury.

This is true. Pens depth is on D (thanks to GMRS). Issue is we need forward depth. That is what we are talking about today.... How to turn defensive depth into offensive depth via trades.
