at least a gigantic part of why young kicksave chose wcw over wwf was because wwf seemed too cartoony with all the colorful outfits and goofball characters.

i'm actually surprised anyone likes any version of luger.

to me he had the build and nothing else. he had no charisma, no mic skills, and if you knew a kid who was on the fence about whether or not wrestling was real you could just show him a lex luger match and he'd have everything figured out long before the pin.

There's a great compliation on youtube of him selling and its awesome.

Gets hit with a forearm "OOOOOH". Clothesline "GYAAHHHHH". Thrown to the corner "YEEEOOOOWW"

(frank)ing awesome

I did see a promo where he was clearing reading it off the floor the whole time until he looks up at the end to get left hanging by Jimmy Hart

The Sting/Taker episode did give Sting a lot of props. But its just weird that its been kept to that episode.

Michael Cole said in one of the eps "They didn't have a single one of their own guys. Hogan, Hall, Nash, Savage, Flair, all were Vince's guys"

Wcw was (frank)ing great for a short window. The entire presentation felt real...the backstage stuff was like war coverage in the field

yeah thats true. from what they're showing its like WWE didn't even know a segment could take place outside of the stage, barber shop set or the ropes.

WWF was more reluctant to embrace what became the attitude era. WCW defiantly pushed that envelope first but once Vince got his footing he proved to be more organised in his story telling.

Basically the NWO thing and then Goldberg was hot af but that's all they had. They lacked the creative talent to keep coming up with new stuff that's why they kept going back to the NWO well.

the more you learn about WCW finances the more it becomes literally no mystery why they tanked.

guys like Hogan and Nash having contracts that paid them X dollars for a variety of things, but if anyone got paid more than X dollars for any of those things then they'd get a bump to still be above them in scale. creative control and guaranteed downsides that were enormous.

when there is that much financial irresponsibility it can be impossible to keep guys in line.

Razor used to call Bishoff Easy E because he was the boss but desperately wanted to be one of the boys so they milked him without mercy.

Bishoff basically made an entire career off using a billionaires money for re-hashed legends someone else created and then ganking the idea for the NWO from a NJW or whatever it's called.

He's massively overrated imo

I think he just got in above his head. He was good as a character. (frank)ing hated him as the GM of RAW growing up

I missed the era completely.

Pretty much didn't see a thing after Mania 18 until the Royal Rumble with Punk and Rock as the main event a few years ago.

I did see a bit of Brock in his early days but it was very intermittent.

(frank)ing more hilarious propaganda in the MNW docs

re: Hogan vs Flair at WM 7 or 8
Hogan: I have no idea why it didn't happen. I had a great plan for that match. It would have done huge business and been a classic.

Probably because you planned to go over after breaking out of 6 Figure Four's and squashing Flair in 12 minutes for the belt.

Hogan: I was doing real well in Hollywood but I missed wrestling so much I took whatever offer Bischoff put in front of me.

Holy. (frank).
Hogan might actually have dementia.

Also the way they talked about how Big Show won the WCW title as the Giant as if he dominated Hogan clean going on to a lengthy reign. It was WCW's biggest embarrassment until Arquette won the title. The YETAY humping Hogan, Jimmy Hart getting involved for a DQ and then Show getting stripped of the title one day later.
