Blandy Borton is def totes the kind of guy that can beat Bork.

Except that he doesn't have any of the standout moments that Reigns has. Kayfabe fight me female dog.

Traditionally, when a guy is annointed as the next one, the preferred approach is to have that individual have a solid six month-one year run as IC champ. Not only elevates that title to relevance, it also allows the worker to hone their craft in a fair amount of spotlight until they are ready for the captains chair.

Agreed. I'm a fan of Reigns but he isn't there yet. The problem they ran into was the lack of credible opponents for Lesnar, so they stayed the course.

Don't know why people blame Reigns for the build when the champion only shows up once every 5 weeks.

Big reason 'Mania is suffering in my opinion.

Three of the top four feuds involve part timers that haven't been around.
Trips has to carry like 80% of his feud with Sting
Wyatt has been entirely on his own with Undertaker
Lesnar has been around like once in person and once in a video package. Now he has Heyman which helps, but it also hurts not having a staredown or any kind of confrontation between the two of them really.

Yup. And when the guy is seasoned everyone knows it's coming so instead of being told who to root for they collectively do it over a period of time. Also you can watch the up and comer make stepping stones along the way building to the moment when they finally get over on the favourite. It's more exciting then "oh you've been on your own for six months, yup you're the face of the company." How is that storytelling believable at all really?

I miss the slow burn rises and falls of the past to a degree. We have lost patience.

I didn't really mind for a little while when Taker would be around for like 2 months. Rock would be in-arena like ever other week and off weeks he'd do awesome videos.
Even saving Lesnar's dates so he can be around frequently when he needs to.

But its at the worst its ever been this year.

Like those are the top 3/4 feuds as far as marketing goes and they have the worst builds. The one I like the most is Rollins v Boreton and its because they're around every week.

Reigns himself is not to blame. Creative is. He is doing his best no doubt. Just needs some more experience IMO. It's up to management to have the patience needed.

For as much crap TNA gets, they used to do slow burns well.

*fantasy booking*
If they sign Lesnar to a year extension, have him beat Reigns. The next night Reigns come out to boos and he cuts a promo about how he has failed everyone and proceeds to take a leave of absence.

After a couple of months he returns to help a face but turns heel. The next week, with a darker persona, cuts a promo about how he did things the right way and wanted people to love him and he got caught up in that and that distraction if why he lost, and now he's in it for himself.

He runs through the roster in until he gets to the Rumble, and wins it again. Now the rematch is set, but Lesnar is a face now after a title feud with Rollins.

Then the match at Mania, it begins with a spear and wins in record time. Reigns is now champion and looks legit.

does he still only have 5 moves or did he add a couple + mic skills during the prolonged absence?

NXT is rumored to be coming to the ECW Arena in May. I already have tickets secured assuming it actually happens.
