I keep flip flopping. Yesterday I was okay with it. Today, not so much.

I wish he didn't have such a large gap between coaching jobs. I would think coaching in today's NHL is slightly different then 10 years ago.

Still, it doesn't hurt to add someone with so many rings into the fold. He certainly has to be able to teach the kids something.

I think he's on board as a "player development" guy...although nothing's official, he was at the development camp hanging with Pegula, murray, devine and the others so one would assume he's on board

There are better, more bonafide winners they could be learning from, even if these guys are being handcuffed by Snow. This organization, among other things, needs to learn how to win, badly.

That's not to say that Trottier is necessarily a bad hire in of itself. I just hope Nolan is able to hire someone without "direct ties" to him as well.

Pretty much doesn't matter who they bring in. All depends on how the players respond to him. We won't know till we see how it plays out.

He was still in the player development business until now, so it's not like he's been sitting in his rocking chair.

There's no denying that he hasn't been a coach for a while, but he's still been in the business at a hands on level.

can't ask for more of a winner than trottier...four cups with the isles, goes to the pens, they win two cups...hooks on with the avs, they win the cup...*shrugs*

No , Sorry . The Buffalo way is to think every move made is a bad one . There will be no hope here ! Get with the program . If it is a bad hire ? Isn't the goal to stink this year ?

That's exactly why part of me is okay with it.

Obviously we don't know for sure how the players will respond, but I would think many of them would look forward to the opportunity to learn from him.

Or at least get his autograph.

So apparently 6 cups as a player and 1 as an assistant isn't 'more bonafide'? Come on man.
