Good read again B0os.

Adam is a career AHLer. He's a decent depth forward. That's about it.

I'd take $300K a year to play in the AHL. And yes, the Mark Mancari comparison is pretty fair. One difference though is that Mancari had a big shot from the point. Adam is more of a net front presence.

IMO he's another guy with NHL talent that was misused in a dysfunctional organization.

Yes he deserves blame and his failures are ultimately on him, but Ruff and Co. messed with him just like they did a few others

you're right on with that...i'd like to see adam stick with roch, at least for one more year...I really think he can help them get over that first-round-and-out hump

maybe...but, imo, the nhl was too fast for him both physically and mentally...and that's nobody's fault

Hard to see Adam becoming a reliable player for the Sabres. Maybe he can help on the power play and get in the goalies grill a little bit but I think that's about it. Maybe if he is called up again and performs well he can be used as some trade bait or as a nice accessory to a bigger deal. Either way I would like to see him stay in Rochester and help some of the younger kids with their development.

I don't think that was really the issue. He was put in a position to succeed in Buffalo. He started out at 1st line center. His struggles come from having a sense of entitlement (it's been mentioned before) and not knowing how to get himself over the hump when he started having difficulty. Instead of listening to his coaches, he sulked and did what he wanted to.

That was why he was sent back to Rochester. He put himself into the doghouse even more when he got to Rochester, because instead of busting his ass to prove he didn't belong there, he took the "I don't care" attitude and floated.

good points...i'd forgotten about that...and to piggyback, is it any wonder he acted like that with "the core" as his "mentor?"

It was ultimately on him, but I believe he was handled poorly a few years ago. There was an interview with him after Regeir and Co left where he basically said he was confused by what Regeir and Ruff wanted

I heard that the reason he had such a hard time with everything is that he was really successful at every level he played. He's also an only child that apparently never heard the word no. It was an internal struggle for him to figure out how to deal with the fact that he didn't get what he wanted and straighten out what was going on out on the ice.

It took over a full year after he was sent down to realize that his attitude is what was standing in his way. He came into camp a completely different person last year and it showed.

Gonna guess that's why he was on 3 different JR teams in his 4yrs. I'm not sure that I've seen that often.

I'm just thankful were not in a position where we are banking on this guy for our future.

If he takes the offer, fine, I'd like to see what comes of him at that cost. If not, no harm no foul.

I don't know that he would have made it either way. Like you said, his skating ability leaves a lot to be desired.

I don't think he made any strides (pun intended) with his skating in the five years he played pro

I do too. I think he eventually ends up a 6 or 7 in the NHL.

Traded mid season.

Only reason he was moved last year was to have a shot to go deep in the playoffs.

Luke Adam started each of his last 3 yrs in JR's on a new team. That isn't something I've seen often.
