I'm just curious to know what the Rangers fans opinion is on Dylan McIlrath...

Personally, i like him alot, but i also feel that the Rangers went off the board a bit when they selected him with the #10th pick.

2 games of NHL experience so far, and he looked ok in his first NHL fight with McGrattan, but is this the year he becomes a regular in the line-up, or are his chances fading fast ?

Big shutdown guys like him take awhile to develop. Was a reach, but if he gets it going he will be a force on the Rags.

It's worth noting Pysyk and Gormley from the same draft year still are highly touted and haven't proved much either.

Be a couple more years before the Rangers start seeing what this kid really has.

Habs have same issue with Tinordi. Problem with big kids is 2 fold I think. First they have the size but are generally really lanky. They were able to dominate against kids but when playing against men they suffer because of the strength needed to compete.

Second, they generally lack the foot speed to compete because of their frames.

These guys just need time to develop otherwise if you rush them then you have a $5-6 million headache like Buffalo is going through with Myers or what Calgary and Toronto did with Aullie
