is it the leafs for the first time in ages ?
Flames and oilers are out
jets, canucks, sens are in tough to make the playoffs
montreal and leafs are our only shots
montreal
price is a world class goalie, but their their offense is behind toronto's. Vanek will help but with georges out it is a this for that
Toronto
can score with the best in the east if not the nhl, yes our goaltending has been good but you cannot continue to give up as many shots on net, hopefully bolland will stabilize our PK when he returns
soo... whos our best shot |

Same thing no? Even if its 1% and the habs is .5%, its still accurate.
I'd say the better question would be who Jas the best chance over the next five years though. Which I'd say have, leafs, Edmonton are in the discussion. |

No. One's winning the hardest trophy to claim in sports and the other is winning a first round series in a weak sister Atlantic division.
as for five years? who knows? Too many variables in pro sports these days to discuss a topic like this logically without dabbling into too many hypotheticals.
This year I would say Leafs and Habs are Canada's best teams, leading a group that is in dire straights for the most part. Also don't think the Leafs are twice as likely to go farther then the Habs as your 1% to a .5% suggests. I would ay if they were to face each other I'd give the Leafs a 60-40 edge based on the games they played this year. |

There are two teams making the playoffs. If you put the odds at the leafs as better, particularly if they face each other that logically gives them the best chance.
You went to a lot of effort to say some stupid poop. |

They are tied with the other six Canadian teams at 0%.
That's just opinion obviously, but I'd wager it turns out to be a true one. |

Leafs this year, and assuming the re-sign some of their depth performers, leafs in the go-ahead, too. |

However things turn out has no bearing on what their odds are now.
It's not like the everyone but the Hawks had a 0% chance going into the playoffs. |

its still the same thing... like he said even if its the leafs at 1% and habs at 0.5% .... leafs are CANADA'S best shot at winning the cup
Do i think a canadian team will win the cup this year? no .... but i still think the leafs are canadas best chance if it were to happen |

It's like that scene in Dumb and Dumber where Lloyd asks Mary "what's the chances of a girl like me and a guy like you ending up together." And she says 1 in a million and Lloyd responds enthusiasticly "SO YOU'RE SAYING THERES A CHANCE!"
That's what this discussion reminds me of. |

That's lovely for you. You realize 1 in 1,000,000 is just more stupidity right? Vegas has them at about 30 to 1. So a 3.5% chance.
I doubt they get past round 2. But you're obviously being an idiot when you make statements like "and I'd wager it turns out to be a true one." You realize that nothing can prove that to be true right? In fact, it's actually pretty much by definition not true right now.
Hell, they came pretty close to wiping out the Bruins last year. I'd be willing to bet you would have made some similar stupid statements prior to that if asked. |

you're taking this too seriously pal.
Leafs match up well against the Bruins because they play a similar style. If they met again it would likely be another 6-7 gamer. Same goes for the Habs-Bruins and Leafs-Habs. No outcome would surprise me in any of these series. |

Of the Bruins winning the cup this year? Nope. None. Zero. And I'll wager I get proven right on that soon enough. |

They will be hard pressed. Making the finals three out of four seasons would be a difficult task for any organization. As a Leafs fan you can attest to that by not being there a single time since 1967. |

Same chance as every other team in New England. If you were to tell me they had the best chance at getting out of the weak sister Atlantic, well then I'd maybe agree. But they really don't have any better chance at a Stanley Cup than Boston College. |

It is Montreal. Toronto's match up right now is Pittsburgh.
Would not be surprised if Montreal wins it, actually.

Boston's the only team in the East that has a solid shot at the cup. They're as good as any team in the West. |
