We need somebody like Ryan O'Reilly from Colorado. Give up one of these bums and a D-man, hell throw in LeBlanc.

Christian Thomas can def play at the NHL level, the kid has speed and energy, something MTL lacks these days.

With the way Beaulieu is playing, he belongs up. Boullion/Drewiske IMO are a waste of cap space. and with Mac Bennett up finishing at UM and Tinordi we have plenty of talent for the blue line up and coming.

Has anybody seen Thrower!? Where did this kid go.....

IDK gang, seems to me like our beloved Canadiens is slowly going downhill, and who knows, maybe the Olympic break will re-rejuvenate some players

something has got to change MB!

To land ROR you'd be looking at a 1st rounder and then Beaulieu or Gallagher. You can pretty much forget about this guy unless MB sells the farm which he has repeatedly said he wouldn't do.

Secondly guys like Bouillon or Drewiske are not tradeable. They will either stay as 7-8-9 Dmen or go to the AHL.

Thrower is with the giants and has not yet been signed by MTL meaning that unless something happens on front, he will be a UFA and can sign with pretty much any team in the league, cough cough, the Canucks.

With that said something does have to give because there are too many bodies.

B will try to part with Bourque, Moen to free up some space.

I've said in our other trade thread thing, if we are going to make a major deal, its for an ROR, Kane type player who will benefit us in the long term. The parts we are willing to be rid of will not get us anything of value. If we want a young, 1st liner/top pairing dman, we have to part with Gallagher/Pacioretty/Eller/Bealieu/Tinordi

As for Thrower, doesn't he go back into the draft?

Not sure to be honest with Thrower. Depends on the age right?
Thought it was something similar to Kristo. We either signed him or he became a UFA?

I think Habs might be close to contract limit so some of Ham UFAs won't be resigned leaving space for Thrower. I wouldn't worry about it.

Not so sure right now. I mean the kid had issues. Went from Saskatoon to Vancouver as an overager because the team didn't want him in Hamilton this year. Thats not the actions of a player who they have plans for. Usually they'll try anything to get the player under their guidance.

Why bring in Drew Schiestel, Joel Chouinard, Nathan McIver on D for the Bulldogs when you have Thrower available?

Because you want to see if he can round out his game in juniors which he has. He's playing great this year and should get a contract this summer.

I think Pleks looks good with a C on his jersey, I also think he looks good playing on a line with Jagr....

Plus i think he has more skill and leadership skills then Gio does, idk...

I am still ok parting ties with Gio, Briere, and Bourque

Drives me crazy when people discuss leadership. It is utterly impossibly for anyone other than the people in that locker room to discuss who the leader is. 24Ch shows Gorges as a vocal leader but every team has those guys.

so what you are saying is that Brian Gionta on the ice, on 24CH is a leader...? A leader produces not only on the ice, but in the locker room. Somebody who is vocal, and will stick up for his teammates regardless of the situation.

Brian Gionta is none of the above, curious....

I dont get it man, here we have people speaking their thoughts and opinions and then there are those of you who are happy with the current team, happy with our farm system and happy with the fact you love your beloved Canadiens who last won a cup in '93!?

wow.......

And anyways we can look at it, the captain is not only there for rallying the troups, bashing/motivating the players and speaking to the cameras.

He is also the link between the coach/management and the players. He is also the link between the refs and the coach on some occasions.

But yes, Gorges is a great motivator. I don't think this alone would put him on captaincy.
For me, a leader should do all the little things right (lead by the example, motivate, speak, perform) and be liked unanimously by the crew.
