I have to disagree, though with the attack on the reports on the US Olympic team selection. The fault lies with those running the US team, who granted full access and failed to understand what that meant. The reporters did their job, they were given access and used it to tell the stories presented them. No restrictions or editorial controls were put on them, so there was no reason to expect that they wouldn't print what they heard. You can be sure that nationally known reporters from USAToday and ESPN will not suffer any repercussions for doing exactly what they were assigned and expected to do. |
