Thank god , I guess , but at least our guys will be playing with some passion. The rebuild is on . Enjoy your very brief moment in the sun since it only took the last 40 years to get here. The Sabres will be back in contention in 3 or 4 years . For years to come at that point.

Shanahan's "justice" for Kadri is just laughable. Only 3 games for that vicious direct blow to the goaltender's head? Once again Shanahan makes up the rules as he goes. He all but apologizes to the Leafs for suspending this goon. Kadri should be banned from at least 10 games for that thuggish attack on the goaltender. Absolutely disgusting.

Mario Lemieux had it right, years ago, after he was injured by another goon: The NHL is a garage league.

Did the Tootoo hit involve a deliberate calculated blow to the head as well ? Did the Goalie have to leave the Game as well . I do not care who made that hit . Sydney Crosby or Jonathan Toews could have and I would be calling for their suspension. . I was watching the game . It was a punk move . I do not get it . I have never seen Kadri play like that . He was dealing with something that night that had him in a nasty mood.

No I don't think so . That's his story . He delivered a forearm / elbow to the head . He was lucky to get 3 games . This is his first offense . That is why he got off light . He had issues that night . He was pissed at something off the ice. I have never seen him play with intent to injure folks . Hopefully he has calmed down.

Seriously. You have to tell us. We are dying to know. Are you Miller's agent? Why is it that you are trying to sell every team on the guy. He's not exactly a hidden gem. Everyone knows the good and bad about the guy.

We all know that Toronto players go out to injure everyone in the league. Buffalo for instance has a team of players who would never do anything to harm anyone. Kadri has a major track record ... Yeah this is getting to comical. If it wasn't for our first three lines of centREs being out then these next two games would be a walk in the park. It's unfortunate that Teddy Nolan is their interim coach because I really do like the guy.

Get some new material EH. I didn't know people on this board played in the NHL? You act like it is a fan's fault for being a terrible team for 7 years of their existance. In saying that make sure your team wins something of note before you bash other teams and their fans who are a lot more loyal than yours. yes, you are correct. this is the only time in the past 40 years Toronto has had playoff bound teams...just for the record the leafs have made the playoffs 24 times in the past 40 years

you think this sabres team, probably the worst team since the expansion sens (yes they are worse than the expansion thrashers,blue jackets and wild!) will be contenders in 3-4 years? HAAA. look at the oilers, they were supposed to contend after a few years as well and still haven't found their way back to the playoffs...Sabres are at least a half dozen years away from a playoff spot, they are just the worst team the NHL has seen in 20 years hands down..good luck with that "rebuild"

I bet you were one of the ones outraged at Scott's/ Kaleta's suspensions. The sabres are like that team from Slap shot, only gonna get probably 15-20 wins all year so might as well goon it up

It doesn't appear to be mentioned in the discussion of the suspension. But I'm guessing it was 3 games as a result of him going high on Granlund later in the game as well which also appeared to be a head shot. 3 is fair considering both hits and that he's a first time offender.

3 is good for the goalie collision. As Shanaban said he obviously was concentrating on the puck. I mean he deflected a slapshot on goal a second before he hit.

Also if you think that his forearm to Backstrom's head was a shot, you're a moron. He clearly went through the entire collision without doing it, afterwards started falling from the collisioin and in my opinion, as any normal human would do, looked for the closest thing to break his fall and hold on to - the top of the net. That's why his arm went forward, he was reaching for the post.

3 is right, there was 2 for the tootoo hit, and that didn't cause an injury. As much as I HATE the fact that injuries are a deciding factor, it has been stated that they are. (I believe in punishing the act/intent rather than the outcome. A dirty hit is still dirty if the guy doesn't get hurt, and a clean one is still clean if a guy does get hurt)

I think the only reason he got three is because of both hits. They nabbed him for the one they could better justify, but I have no doubt the fact that he kept taking shots that game factored into it.
