Im a big time islanders fan and go to a lot of games. Sprong is unbelievable couldnt agree more. Pepin looks like he forgot how to skate this year. He makes some big hits and the odd time he make a real nice play, but most of the time he's just putting around the ice. The talent is there but I think he bulked up to much this summer. Once he levels out and get the foot speed going he'll be very dangerous out there.

Gaining 25 pounds in one off-season isn't the smartest thing to do in your draft year

I don't care how good this Jeremy Roy guy ends up being, I think we all know who the top pick in 2015 will be, and he won't be coming from the Q.

Didn't think that was even possible. Did the kid have a big growth spurt or something?

Went on the Dustin Penner, Big Buff and Kyle Wellfed diet is my guess.

So who's your early pick from the QMJHL to be the biggest riser in consensus draft rankings from this point until the draft?

Alexis Vanier. 6'5, PPG defenseman that crushes people? Sign me up. Some sites have him in the 3rd and 4th round

He trains at our local gym with the same trainers as Bouillon and Begin. He worked very hard to improve his speed. His training is a Crossfit training program similar to the Gary Roberts training program. He is naturally a big boy. Big boys needs a little more time. He will play in the NHL. Audette won't!

He is hood enough to go in the 2nd. He has everything. Habs would be smart to pick him up before Philly does.

I suspect if he keeps this up, even say finishing with 40ish points (On pace for 70 atm) he goes in the mid-first. Always hard to find 6'5 defenders with offensive skill AND like to throw some hits.

Agreed! He has a good attitude. Pepin could be a head case at times. He is cocky, knows he is good. Thought his 1st season would of humbled him a bit.

Nicolas Roy = Lindros 2.0, Drafted first overall by Cape Breton and demanded a trade.

Some team that thinks their current team is too soft or small will probably draft him in the first if he actually is as good as he sounds. Not saying he'll be a bad pick, but I always laugh when teams pick payers based on current roster needs/weaknesses, like I get it if you're picking really high and the player is good enough to play right away, but otherwise just draft the BPA. Get the best and most valuable asset now and make trades later if need be, this isn't like the NFL.

Hey French, I think this is the year the Leafs should try for the homerun pick. They've picked relatively safe players like Gauthier, Finn, Percy, etc. Is there anyone in this year's draft who might be the Teravainen or Shinkaruk?

Brendan Perlini is a guy like that. Big size (6'3) has an elite shot and magic hands...not much of a playmaker though and doesn't have the nasty side. Plays with Varheage and is a big part of his surprising success this season. Nikolai Goldobin is another homerun kind of guy. Ultra skilled winger coming out of the Sarnia factory.

Jakub Vrána the Czech coming out of Sweden is also a pretty big sleeper like Hertl before him. Was the youngest player in last years U20 and didn't disgrace himself.
